Now that I have had my GT for a few months I am getting used to its good points and less-good points.

One thing I have noticed is that the car seems to have an acceleration flat spot when you come to a complete stop and then immediately slowly accelerate. If you stop and wait about 5 – 10 seconds, there is no flat spot. I think it may be the transmission taking its time downshifting from Drive back into 1st gear. I don't know if this is this normal or not, but it is irritating. It's almost like it slams into first gear as you take off from a stop. Otherwise the transmission is great.

Anyone else notice this quirk?

I've noticed mine doing the same thing. I think it's just a delayed throttle response.

I mentioned this to my dealer yesterday when I took the car in for its first oil change. He said the transmissions in the 2015s are run totally by computer . . . there are no mechanical linkages. He also told me that, over time, the car will learn to adapt to my style of driving, and that it's still learning. Can you spell B.S.?

It's not throttle response. If you get on it more, you'll feel it actually hit 1st.

Normal. It's taking that time to shift into 1st. It stays in higher gears while moving to aid gas mileage (I was told anyway). If you stop, it goes to first. But if only very slow or didn't stop for long enough, it's not there yet and has to get there so you feel that.

Yes it's annoying! I feel I'm being forced to baby the throttle in this situation to avoid this hiccup. It happens a lot in 2nd to 1st gear scenario but I noticed the problem occurring in different gears as well.

I'm guessing it's a software related issue  Hate to say this but my 2010's AT felt much smoother.

I've noticed this too, but when it's annoying me and I want it to stiffen up, move it into Sport or Sport+. It feels a lot more aggressive and the delay is gone. Sometimes I shift back and forth pretty often as I hit different areas of town that drive differently.

Yea... I like the 'feature' :) makes the car feel extra strong like its ready to race :)

Anybody with a tune having the same effect? Could be the drive by wire feature?

Never experienced it...But, I always drive in S not D unless I'm on the highway for an extended trip.

Also, take control of the shifting...More Rewarding & Fun than letting the car decide it's time to shift!-->:D

Why didn't you get a manual transmission?

My last mustang (BOSS 302) with 3:73s was just too much for city Stop & Go traffic. The Auto W Paddle's is enough for me, personally...Not trying to start another Manual VS Auto war-->
