Just picked up a 2017 gt premium auto with 3.55 gears and I am looking to do a supercharger and had some questions.

Are the 3.55 gears too much for FI?

Would I be better going with a centri vs PD with 3.55's?

Been looking at Procharger, probably an H.O. kit. MAK Performance claims the H.O. kit is rated at 750HP. While other sites have it listed at anywhere from 45-60% hp gain. I realize it is impossible to say exactly what each car will make, but I am looking for 600-650whp.

So what are some realistic hp #'s for the H.O. kit?

Lots of information on the forum about which supercharger to buy. It really depends on what your end goals are and how much money is a factor. The 3.55 should be fine but you might want to go with a 28" tire for the strip. Look at the fast list in the drag section and there are guys running 3.55 with forced induction.

I really like mine too helps when you don't have a converter gives the car some more starting line oomph like 60fts. My friends cars with 3.15's 60 ft similar to mine but my car is heavier so I know they help.

Are you guys running 28* tire or 26" at the strip with the 3.55? I have 3.73 since my car was a PP car converted to an auto. I am wondering it it will make it through the 1/4 in 4th with a 28"

I run the Mickey Thompson et street 28" tall drag radials you want to run a 28 the 26" are too short don't look good no sidewall in my opinion and don't hook as well and make your gears too short. When you go to the Wallace racing gear calculator plug the numbers for 3.55 and 28" tall tires 1.14 (4th) gear ratio it's about perfect with any combos trap speeds. You can get 3.73's to work but you definitely need to run 28"'s as the car will be nearing the end of 4th gear depending on trap speeds of course. My buddy ran 3.73's in his 14 roush auto and ran 9.88. @140 and it was around 7100 give or take at the traps with 28"'s. But much faster than that you might need to drop down to 3.55's or even 3.31's although maybe not necessary. Hope this helps

That is great. I really don't want to change gears. I hope the 3.73 helps it leave harder since I have not put a stall in yet?

Yea gears definitely help the stock stall contrary what some may believe and it makes the car more livelier around town I love the the stock stalls snappy response street driving. My car gets 1.40's on a stock converter my friends 14 auto that ran 9.80's with 3.73's and stock converter was soo much fun to drive felt like a rocket around town. I think you will be ok for a while at 148mph = about 7558 rpm in 4th and 150mph = 7660 rpm so you still have some room to grow You might be able to get away with (3.73)'s for a while at least Hope this helps! good luck post how she runs.

What type of setup was your buddy running? I think it is easier to get by with a stock stall when you have a positive displacement charger vs centri like me.

my buddy has a vmp blower with 69 pulley ms109 mono blade throttle body full exhaust headers x pipe manga flow mufflers. Oh You have a centri so I think the 3.73's definitely will be a help since you don't want to run a converter the centri's definitely need some kind of converter...but.. the 3.73's will get the car 60ft better maybe not as much as the converter obviously. I would build it and run it see how she does. I can get my stock converter up to about 2,000 to 2100 rpm on the foot brake. I would say leave at as high as you can and let it eat.
