Camaro sales have been in the tank for a while though I don’t think there is much excitement for the refresh as it is. Even with huge sales in the past they just aren’t moving. Winter time is right around the corner too.
If the vibe we've been seeing is accurate, if anything it seems there might be a rush to get an '18 before the '19s come out.

For Ford as well, But at least they have the rental car companies in Florida to buy up the converts.

I don't think anyone is saying the Camaro doesn't perform. That much is pretty clear that gm did a great job designing a car that performs as well as it does for the price point. However, like you said it's ugly, especially the 19's, and it's daily drivability sucks. Most of us would rather sacrifice a little performance for a better looking more well rounded car. Plus the majority of people can not drive well enough to eak out that extra bit of performance the Camaro offers over the Mustang. End of the day the Camaro is the better performer but it's by a thin margin which is why the Mustang sells so well.

Many performance car drivers never see a track.
We want the cars for looks, engineering, feel, sound,
power, and kicks of having a cool car.

In the hands of guys that race cars, the Mustang holds it own.
See: Khor Motorsports 2017 2018. Parnelli Jones 1970.
Guys named Maxwell, Jennette, and Gue in 2005.
Smokey Yunick 1969. Two dozen more like them and Carol Shelby forever.

I am so happy I don’t have to drive a Honda.
As for the high powered, only marginally faster street Camaro 6;
It was written on this blog in the past, that Camaro is proof
you can make an undesirable car fast,
but all you have is a fast undesirable car.

i agree. It's especially important as Camaro sales skew older (Challenger, surprisingly skews younger, and Mustang is in the middle) that folks can't get in and out of them. The basic shape of the car is nice but the cartoonishly low roof spoils the ergonomics as well as the appearance.

Won't sell? I'm picking one up.

Yes, the Stang looks better and is more daily driver friendly, but at the track, the Camaro destroys the Stang.
Exactly which Camaro "destroys" which Mustang at the track? iirc the 1LE was .65sec faster than the PP2 on different days. Thats hardly destruction from a car that looks worse and is less DD friendly- (your words)

GM has put Corvette level performance in the Camaro, and it still won’t move the volume of units the Mustang does. It’s because the Camaro is not a vehicle that resonates with car buyers the way the Mustang does. It never will.

10 Million cars, 54 consecutive years in production (even Corvette can't say that) most of the time it hasn't been the fastest in a strait line or on the track and it has killed every car in its class at least once. (With camaro soon to be a 2nd time.) If your wondering why Mustang is the best watch A Faster Horse paying attention to the car show portion then maybe you'll figure it out.
