I am in from the morning until mid-afternoon.

I may even bring the extra crank that Ford sent me yesterday. ;)

Great fun drive. We had a lot of open road with some blocking. Good BBQ lunch. Nice folks. Ya'll see the two Mustangs. There was a Cayman S, a 350Z, and a 30rd Anniversary Miata.

The GT350 is off the train and in Hapeville waiting for truck transport. The dealer currently says it will be at their dealership next week, and they don't know why it is going to sit in Hapeville that long.
It's getting closer...!!!!

dp,
Tom and I are planning on the end of August with the NC guys. Tom is a former SCCA racer so he knows what he is doing.

He has around ~40K miles on it (business use), and it runs very well.

I hope we can get with the North Carolina guys if they are still in?

You should bring your new car. There is no minimum speed so you can correctly break the car in. The mountain leader will always wait at an important turn because of traffic situations.

Sounds great... I will definitely be bringing up the rear as I plan on keeping the rpm's lower in the beginning.
If I get the car Tuesday or Wednesday, I should be able to get the paint dialed in by Friday evening (8-23) at the latest.
I also have a lot of getting used to a heavy higher horsepower front engine car again... it's been 15 years since I sold the '03 Cobra.
Then I was spoiled with the Cayman.
I am really looking forward to this car...!!!!!

You will find the car to be exceptional. It is X 10 times better than the old Terminator of 2003-2004. No one is racing, and they pull over at major intersections. Some of the rear cars (everyone is rear or front at one time) get blocked by traffic.

A current GT350 is good within the break-in period. I think dragging down the Rpm's is worse than keeping it in the factory recommended range (shift lower over bogging it down). The manual says short burst @ ~5000 Rpm is OK. You need to break-in the engine properly. After 100 miles, you drive it harder.

After 1000 miles, you can nail it hard. The sound and pull of a flat plan crank engine from 3000 Rpm to 8000 Rpm is just something that I will never forget.

It was more than worth the $1300 fuel mileage penalty on the car..

Looks like the NC guys are out for this weekend. Two of us have parents with some health issues, if something changes we will let you know.

I am hoping to work on the shifter this weekend. It has been just too dang hot lately.

I hope the medical issues clear up soon. Let's try it again next month (or before the fall foliage).

Tom,
It is cooling off a bunch by this weekend. I can come by with some beer and offer good free advice....Mark and Jack may also offer free advice.

I had to follow-up. I drove up to Blue Ridge (Hwy 60, western 6-Gap) today and came back via Hwy 129 at Blairsville, GA. The chance of rain was 10%. I got past Suches when the worst thunderstorm hit. I was hydro-planning at 35 Mph on the straights. The rain finally calmed down on Hwy 129 South about the time that a found two big RV's going 15 Mph.

I got to try the slippery payment setting. I also have a dirty car to wash.

I'm glad you missed this. I may have driven 25 miles on clear dry payment.
