I don't know about CARB but none of the EPA regulations have been voted on by our elected representatives. So the reg's really are illegal in and of themselves.

For the majority of states, if you aren’t street racing nor have an exhaust setup that raises the dead, chances are you’ll fly under the radar still. As far as tuning goes, I see Lund is stopping using SCT beginning March 15.

in the 70's maybe. Every sports car manufacturer has EPA-legal cats on motors that make Coyote/Voodoo look like pikers and they warranty them for 10yrs. So clearly the technology exists to survive for a damn long time. If there really is a problem with even high-performance CATs sh*tting the bed, then it's a simple matter of buying new factory catted headers and you're good for another 10'ish years. I'm not seeing a problem.

If Sacramento/EPA were pulling the crap they did in 73-80 and completely destroying ICE for political purposes, it'd be one thing. I don't subscribe to the "climate emergency" justification CARB keeps waving around either. Their unilateral cranking of emissions is in no way justified by science and only serves to jack costs and remove perfectly fine goods from the marketplace. And on that basis should be repudiated.
Im not talking about factory cars here, I’m talking about big boy horsepower builds (and yes I support 1500+ hp cars being driven on the highway) So your telling me that cats can consistently handle these 1000+ Hp builds with no need to worry about them blowing out and clogging the exhaust, effectively taking out that bank? If that’s the case then why do big performance shops go cattless on their highest power builds?

1000+HP builds are so irrelevent to the public they don't matter. And yes, if you're gonna build a car such as that then you get to pay a CAT specialist to figure out how to build a suitable cat or you don't build such a retarded car for public street use. You trailer it to the drag strip or your road circuit and enjoy it there with whatever exhaust system complies with the noise ordinance.

That is not how it works.....
Thats because our elected officials have passed the buck to bureaucrats.

It is unconstitutional.

You say that as if you were immune to said bureaucrats without intervention by an appellant or supreme court.

Thomas Jefferson or some other founding father said we are under no obligation to follow unconstitutional laws. However we must be willing to suffer the consequence.

We need to finish draining the swamp.

I contacted my tuner asking some questions since I'm going with a single turbo kit here soon and I got a massive disclaimer before the advice came about how my vehicle will never be EPA compliant / Federal compliant, this is for off-road use only and they don't condone the street use of things of this nature.

Things are getting pretty serious with this stuff on all fronts.

If the tree hugger nut jobs in Washington get their way, they will shut down the entire aftermarket performance industry and we all will driving prius's. Then our only choice is what color we want.
But, if CARB went after airplanes and cruise ships they could make a real difference as they are the real polluters. Cars get new, cleaner engines every year. Planes use 20 year old tech in many cases. Its an unfortunate situation.
Same old story, if it wasn’t for Carb the pollution would be 10 times worst in California
Like it or not the facts are that internal combustion engine produce health damaging pollutants and you can get aftermarket performance parts that are Carb/EPA legal ...such as the PP2 tune on my car
No way anything cars do would make that big a difference, they are a tiny percentage of pollution now a days. The CARB EO system is a money grab scam for the most part.

All I care about is whether cars that produce less emissions due to running E85 be granted a wavier or exemption.

What I don’t understand is why people don’t do any research and practice due diligence before commenting on a subject, it’s simply intellectual laziness......

Motor vehicles are responsible for 50% of smog and 36% of greenhouse gasses
And you call that a tiny percentage??????

For sure, cars are much cleaner but the staggering numbers of vehicles is the roots of the problem
