Are our V8s detuned?

Hi everyone! I was wondering about something, the V8 is stated at 421 HP, whereas in the US it's at 435. Are they detuned or is the measurement done for 95 gasoline instead of 99+? I think I might have read that somewhere, but don't remember where. The RHD ones are for sure a bit less HP because of the conversion restricting the exhaust or something. What about the normal LHD ones?

US horsepowers are slightly less than EU horsepowers. It's like the metric discussion except even more confusing.

does that also explain why my Ecoboost sometimes has 317hp and other times 314? :D I still don't know what to answer when people ask - so I just say "enough"... and keep in mind that the 2006GT "only" had 300hp/320tq :D when confronted by my "stupid I4 turbo rice-Mustang"...

I did a trip in the V8 couple day's ago to tune the V8, the pulls we did with laptop connected etc. was impressive and fun. On our way back we did a few pulls V8 vs EB, I was in sport+ on my EB and the V8 in normal... to my surprise the EB doesn't fall short at all, I was blazing fast and miles ahead :D FYI; Both cars are AT's.

Not sure why there is a difference of 3HP in brochures for the EB though. My invoice says 317HP, my homologation papers say 314HP. Anyway, neither of those figures we have as this is measured on the crank and not the wheels. Most get something between 265 & 285 on the wheels when tested without tunes. FYI; the engine by it self has 400HP, it's just the down-tuning and restrictions they added to get them at 314/17HP. Take care of those restrictions (CAI, IC, Down-pipe, Exhausts, sparkplugs, COBB Tune) and of you go :D
