Well, I noticed it's a solid hub. Probably pretty brutal setup.

Pass for myself but maybe a less expensive option for someone else.

Personally I would stick with an Exedy, McLeod or Mantic as they're all going to handle the power you throw at them and why not go with a company that specializes in manufacturing clutches vs. a retailer with a branded clutch. Hit me up and we can go over your setup and goals to get you dialed in.

Feel Free to DM me or call with any questions.

That looks to be identical to the Competition Clutch that is in my car, especially with the markings on the pressure plate. Personally, I've been super happy with the clutch, smooth engagement and holds decent power. Although, can't speak too much for it in the MT82 version.

Personally, the Lethal Performance LPX/LPXHD or Mcleod RST/RXT line is one of the best clutch kits you can get for these transmissions. Had great performance, reliability, and longevity with a LPX in a couple cars, with no issues whatsoever.

the "best" is a sprung hub, exedy or mantic, period. most others are the same other than material.

the mcleod is very nice as well. personally alot of customers feel the kevlar in the house brand is very "chattery", i've had several customers swap after installing

Hey everyone,

Posting this here because the drivetrain section seems to not be getting much traffic.

Curious if anyone has seen or ran the below clutch setup? It's a twin disk, including billet flywheel for $800. Says it holds 700lb ft of torque.

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-700902/make/ford/model/mustang/year/2016

Curious if it's an off-brand McLeod style (RST?)?
I would go with a quality clutch in your car like our Lethalperformance LPX. It's a twin disk clutch and is made with kevlar disks so it will not break your MT82 transmission. It's one of the best priced and highly rated clutches on the market. Please feel free to give me a call at 1.877.253.8425 if you have any questions. Use code "FBFAN" at checkout for a discount as well!

Add kevlar to that too. Never understood with people want the most unforgiving clutch material ever conceived for a street car. They'll say 'because race car', well SCCA racers use factory stock spec organic clutches. Then they'll say 'nah.. not that gay road race stuff.. drag race man'. Well then, forgo the BS and go straight to sinter iron clutches and be all top fuel like.

Most people don't. You get 1 retail company, to get another company to private label a material, that the mfg doesn't want to bring to market. then get all your nut huggers to pump it, and create a demand for something that is not better.

especially when said company promoted the rxt as the best clutch and perfect for the mt82 with 0 issues.. for 10 years..... but now with private label kevlar, rxt is the devil.....unless of course thats what the customer wants and you can't convince them to switch, then it's perfectly fine....

thats why i don't "mfg", all credibility goes out the window

I was set on the McLeod RST for the longest time but a few forum members have stated that while it felt great on the street, they had horrible expierences with it on the track. They claimed the Exedy mach 500 was the bees knees when it came to an upgraded clutch that could do both daily driving on the street and hard work on the track. That being said, whats the main difference between the Stage 1, 2, and 3 mach 500?

How the hell did this go from a question about a clutch from Summit, to a vendor bashing another vendor about their product?
