I had my oil changed in my 2020 350R a couple months ago and they used the KR3Z6731A which is same as the 2087 filter. This is the new filter spec which is on the GT500 and now also supposed to be what you use on the 350 and 350R.

Yep they are difficult to find currently. I was able to buy one with the 10 qt Motorcraft kit from Kmanparts but it is out of stock now.

FYI, Friday I placed an order for two 2087 from Rockauto. I will see if that’s actually what I get .

Never mind I just checked and they are out of stock. I hope I got lucky
I called a local dealer on Thursday and he said they were not showing any in their inventory but he would check to make sure- they had one. From now on I know to ask them to check the physical inventory!

Until the supply of FL-2087 gets back on track (big IF) then we'll all have to settle with FL-2062 and it's brethren. I personally bought the K&N filter used by @The Chairman and bought a bunch of other filters outline in this thread

Well, judging from the other thread the 2062 and the 2062A are both defunct and not authorized. So if it's gonna void the warranty, then I'd go with a quality synthetic.

The 2062A is still cellulose.

The two distinct upgrades to the 2087 are increased pressure/flow (from synthetic media) and the metal frame. If you can't get the benefits of the metal frame, at least you can get the benefits of the improved flow, which also might help alleviate the obscure collapsing issue. If the dealers are gonna start giving grief over using anything other than the 2087, might as well go aftermarket with a nice synthetic, high efficiency media.

I just got my oil change kit from k-mansparts a couple of days ago and it included the 2087. For comparison to the above photos:

The part number on the box says KR3Z-6731-A, but the filter itself on top says KR3E-6714-BA, I also have a filter like this but no box, what's the deal with this? Also the filter I have doesnt say FL-2087 in yellow like the ones I see pictures of, but it looks exactly like the top of this one..

That photo is the 2087 from motorcraft. I hadn't seen the second Ford part number.

The yellow filters are the superseded 2062 and 2062A which are cellulose material and have the plastic inner frame.
