any reason you want the 30 profile as opposed to the 35? the overall diameter is actually smaller with those sizes over stock. not to mention that the cost of a 30 vs 35 is crazy! just curious.

the 30 series is .5" smaller but the 35 series(both in a 305) is .7" taller. So neither is going to be correct.
I currently run a 275/30/20 and a 295/30/20 and will be going to a 305 rear on my next set of tires.
I have a 20x9 and 20x10.5 setup

I just prefer more of a sidewall that’s all. It’s just a bonus that going with the higher profile is cheaper. Also fills out the wheel well more if you are stock suspension.
The posted picture looks great!!! How much are you lowered db252?

Louk -- See Dusten's comment above. When I used a wheel tire size calculator the 30 profile tires (in the 20 size at least) were slightly closer to the OEM tire diameter than the 35s and thus creating a bit less speedometer inaccuracy.

Not a Bullitt but those sizes you mentioned exactly.

db252 -- Beautiful, thanks so much! Do you happen to have any shots looking down the side of the car? I want to get a sense of how much tires, especially the fronts, extend past the wheel well.

That'll be dependent on wheels.

My fronts are 20*9 and with a 5mm spacer don't extend. My rears are 20*10.5 and are almost flush

I'm on JRZ coilovers and lowered about an inch. I have no extension of tire/wheel outside the fender but I’m very close inside with no rubbing. My front offset is 35 and rear is 50 with 10” and 11” wide respectively. I’m also around -1.8 camber on the front for my street setup. I’ll get a specific pic though if you still want.

1.5 vs1.1 off mph at 60. One is reading higher the other lower. Considering that no speedometer is true speed and most have a % that they deem is “in spec” it doesn’t matter but to each there own.
What wheels you going with?

At this point, most likely going with the Carroll Shelby CS-11 "Bullitt" style wheel in Gunmetal. I believe they are 20 x 9.5 for the fronts and 20 x 11 for the rears. They are also suprisingly light weighing about 27.8 and 29 lbs respectively.

Alternatively, I was liking the 20 inch rims on the Steeda McQueen Edition but have now heard they are not selling those rims individually. Steeda does make a "Special Service Duty" staggered 20 inch wheels that look like the McQueen wheel but in black and I have emailed Tim at Steeda to see if those are for sale.

I love those! They are going to be my replacements when the stocks rubber is done.
I thought I saw an ad for the steeda ones but only in all black or some weird color combo that many didn’t like.

Yes, the Special Service Duty wheels I believe are made for Steeda's law enforcement/patrol vehicles and look like they only come in black from the factory. i would most likely get them painted something closer to the dark grey of the original '68 Bullitt GT 390 movie car.

My wheels are 20x11’s rear with 315/35 NITTO 555 G2’s......fronts are 20x10’s with 275/35 NITTO 555 G2’s

Is everyone with these cars really concerned about speedo accuracy?? ....or appearance and function??
