Hello all, I’m wondering if anyone has removed the seat backs in their convertible? I’ve removed the seat bottom, which is easy and works the same as the Fastbacks, but I can’t find any definitive instructions on removing the seat backs. I looked up the seat back parts and it looks they are part of the metal panel, but I’ unsure. I’m removing them to get my back seat belts out so I can send them to get color changed. I think there is just 4 bolts holding them in, but I don’t want to start and find a rogue bolt that’s hidden or undo something I shouldn’t.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I am likely going to be pulling mine out this afternoon to install a BAP. I'll check in later....

I have a service manual, not sure if its covered in it.

Thanks for the reply!

I started looking at the Watson Racing roll bars for the convertible. Then found these instructions! I won’t be able to try it until after work tonight, but if you can try these this afternoon, let me know! It’s point #2 on the instructions.

For the seat belts you don't need to remove the rear seat just the flat plastic piece on top that the belt goes through. It right out.

I need to get the whole seat belt mechanism/assembly out, which is bolted in behind the seat correct?

You could take the seat out to make room but you'll actually need to take the side panels off not the seat.

The seat bolts are the set of 2, not 4 if you do decide to take them out.
