Do you know if this is needed for Android auto to work? i cant find a solid answer when i search google.

I hope it's okay but I have a question related to this as I didn't realize this part was required to support Car Play when doing the Sync 3 upgrade.

Can you just connect over Bluetooth if the USB isn't upgraded?
