I chose to pull the trigger on the big brake upgrade. Problem is I have 19" wheels. I kinda knew this was coming, so I'm not surprised, but I'm wondering what this will look like when I step into 20" wheels. I'm sticking with 20x10's in the front and 20x11's in the rear if I can get away without too much poke out of the rear fenders.

I'll be changing tire size as well obviously: 275/35-R20s in front and 305/35-R20's in the rear.

Has anyone chosen to upgrade their GT with a GT350 upgrade kit (complete with half-shafts, rear knuckles, etc.) and happen to have Project6GR wheels? Can you share some photos and info about how much room you have up front and what the wheel/tire setup is in the back?

doesn't the 350 / 350r come with 19" as well? All about the back space and offset for wheels esp more when fitting bigger calipers. Maybe ask in the 350 section for pics and measurements of caliper / wheel clearance

The 19" Project 6GR wheel should work. A company called Full Tilt Boogie racing sells their own conversion kit, and I remember years ago they posted on another Mustang forum about it and they said they used the 19" 6GR wheels, I even remember pictures of the wheels on the car.

You could also use LMR's SVE's R350 wheels. The rear hubs stick out an extra 1/4" or so with the GT350R brake kit because of the parking brake assembly. The SVE wheels you can use the 19x10, 35 mm offset on the front and the GT350 19x11, 60 mm offset for the rear and reduce some of the rear poke if you use a standard 50 mm offset. LMR has a video on their website detailing the install and those are the wheels they used.

That's good to know. I'm going to mock this up on the front hub regardless just to see if it will fit. Initially I didn't believe it since I bought these wheels specifically for this purpose, but then I remembered I was going to originally step into the bullitt kit, and decided to change my plan.

If it fits but there's a hair width of space I might still move to 20's.

And yes, I know the extra 1/4 on both sides is going to be an issue anyway with poke outside the fenders with a 50mm offset wheel. I was hoping that moving from a 325 wide tire to a 305 would hide that, but maybe not...

I’ve seen P6GR 19s on an actual Gt350 so you should be fine.

not so fast. They make two sets of 19’s. I originally got the non GT350s. The others have a completely different offset - most likely for a fender that will support it.

right, but that tells me the barrels will likely clear the brakes.

New info:

We happen to have our Team Shelby NW car show today, so I took the opportunity to do some research. After some good discussion with a lot of car owners I got lucky. A GT350 owner had Project6GR sevens on his car with the big brakes. He’s got 19” x 11”s in the front.

There’s barely enough room to jam a finger between the center section of the caliper and the inside of the rim but it fits.

the rears will stick out approx 1/4” farther than they do now. The only question is if the rear calipers can clear the back face of the wheel. And I’ll need to go with a narrower tire otherwise the 325’s I have will poke. So I’m thinking 305’s.

next I just need to mock this up and see if they fit before doing anything else.

OP - please scroll down to see their Gt350 brake kit that comes with P6GR wheels. Should save you a lot of headaches.

I already have my kit in hand from Ford Performance. I actually took delivery of it back in December 2021 and it's been in storage while I figure this issue out, so I'm not sure what you're suggesting I look at. the Combo special that includes wheels? doesn't say which wheels its including.

Ah I see what you're referring to. They actually describe the size of the wheels above:

The fitment will run 20x10 front with 35mm offset and 20x11 with 50mm.

Yep, that's what Need4Speed is suggesting I go with.

However, I guess I'll know what I need to do next once I see how all of this looks with the 19's I already have.

Not sure if you're willing to go this route, but I have the GT350 calipers with the 15" PP rotors and there is a ton of clearance on a 19" GT350 replica wheel.

Might be something to consider if you want to be on the safe side of clearances and don't mind the 1 piece steel rotor.

thanks and I'll consider it IF my mock-up plan doesn't work out. I simply have to do that next to know what decisions to make anyway.
