When I bought my car, the finance guy offered me a 5 year 75,000 mile plan that covered everything bumper to bumper, including things like dents, dings, damaged wheels and tires, etc as well as GAP coverage. The way that he structured the deal it only added a couple bucks to my payment. He dropped my interest rate from 3.9% to 1.85% and used the difference to offset the cost of the warranty. I'm sure there was some other financial voodoo going on, but that's OK I'm happy with the deal and love the car. It looks like MPP offers programs for many brands of cars, so I am just wondering if anyone has any experience in working with them. How are they about mods, etc. I won't be going too crazy on the car for a while. But, I do plan to add an exhaust, cai, and eventually a tune. I called and talked to a customer service rep at MPP and he said that a part SHOULD be covered as long as it's directly caused by the mod (which I know is part of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act) But, then also said that any mods would be "taken into consideration" when determining if something will be covered. The documentation that I got in the mail yesterday says something to the effect of "parts will not be covered if the vehicle has been modified in any way (unless the modification is suggested/recommended by the manufacturer) including high performance engine modifications" blah blah blah. I'll probably go ahead and keep it because of the other benefits it offers (like gap, etc - also get free car washes at the dealership), but I do have the option to cancel and get a refund.
