I went to the track this weekend with the addition of my msd 2 step. Ran a new pb of 10.51 with a 1.5 60'. The good is I actually won my first race of eliminations. The bad is on my second pass of eliminations I snapped the 6 rib belt on the 2-3 shift. I was told this was probably do to adding the 2 step and that they are hard on belts. So my question is have any of you running the 10 rib setup had any issues?

They still break on the 10 rib. Just not as often. Remove the 2 step if you want your engine to live a long healthy life. The 2-step is hard on everything with a pd blower.

I have had the same belt on my 6-rib for over 25k miles. 2 step, wot shift box, pulley sizes from 3.375"-3.625", countless 1/4 passes. Never have had a issue.

If you do go 10 rib, get the palm beach dyno K2 alternator brace. I had no issues with my 4.0/20% setup but a lot of guys with smaller upper pullies did

Never broke a belt on my car, and I have over 8,000 miles on the 3.75/20% 10 rib belt. Added the Palm Beach k2 brace and 2-step to the car this year, along with a transbrake. Everything has been working great!

Yes get the alternator bracket for sure to help flexing of the alternator. My '18 just made 978 RWHP and 751 RWTQ with the whipple 3.0, 3.625" pulley, 20% OD and E85 with the 10 rib system and hasn't missed a beat yet.

Thanks for all the info! I think I will give the 6 rib and the PBD brace a shot before buying the 10 rib set up. Sounds like maybe the flexing in the altenator could be the source. F1scamp are you running the original belt routing or the updated one with shorter belt? The belt I broke was with the original routing and I just replaced it with the updated one.
