Accurate and timely communication makes the world go ‘round or brings it to a screeching halt.

I‘m looking to buy a few things, maybe even at some point a new polisher or two and I’m getting some unexpected surprises. Like on a well thought of website ordering a particular polisher, waiting a few days for a shipping notice only to find out by calling them to ask what’s up that it isn‘t even in stock but is expected soon. Is it expecting too much to think that should be flagged when you “add to cart”? Then there’s my normally favorite supplier who can’t even tell me for sure if their last Rupes Mini in stock has the updated trigger or not. It ”probably” does…I’m not one to deal in “probablies”.

Anyway this Clean Garage outfit looks promising but I just wondered if you guys had experience with them.

I just ordered the Geist plus 3 leather kit and interior cleaner from them a few weeks ago. It was my first time using them as well and everything went smooth. I usually use Detailed Image.com but I was happy with Clean Garage.

I order from them regularly. I got all my pressure washer supplies from them. Hose reel, hose, foam canons, etc. Had no issues at all. I have ordered other things too. They are typically pretty timely. I just ordered a new Active premium foam canon last night about 8 pm. Already have notifications that it has shipped today. They get it done faster than TRC for me usually.

This sort of situation has only gotten worse since the Covid supply chain issues, although some business clearly stand for making this sort of thing standard procedure.

Not detailing related, but the same situation. Over the last couple of years, I've been ordering parts and repairing lawn tools myself, I just got sick of sub-par service from bricks and mortar businesses who all play the "shop local" card but don't actually put in the effort to ensure locals keep coming back. As a F-U, I now look up parts from online parts manuals, then buy the parts online.

Anyway, on the 2nd of September 2024, I placed an order for two obscure lawn mower parts. All but one online retailer had them listed, in fact this company list a lot of parts that no one else bothers to offer. Even though the items weren't in stock, I still ordered both because of the "Leaves our warehouse within 7-12 business days" listed next to the availability section.

After a month, I contacted them and was told they were waiting on one part to arrive. On Monday, January 6th 2025, I again contacted them via email wondering what was up. Amazing how it was immediately shipped the next day.

This company have a lot of NLA products listed on their webstore, but they don't bother removing them. They also list a lot of products that they don't bother stocking. I guess doing both gets buyers on the hook, keeping them off the market but leaves customers hanging waiting for parts.

I sure do feel your pain on this one. I’m just one of those folks that believes in having as much accurate information as possible in front of me before making a decision. Good news or bad, just tell me the truth best it is known.

I used to joke that it’d be better to be in hell than purgatory because at least you‘d know your final destination. I don’t deal well in uncertainty.
