It still is going to be another 6-8 months before the full catch up.
just long enough for the world economy to come unglued even more and all that panic-built extra capacity to go fallow.

Think pig in a python. Forget chips, the REAL bottleneck is container-ship capacity (TEU) and the charter rates. I hope to god we learn that China is a liability not an asset and bring all of the industrial inputs back to CONUS. And enact tariffs etc. to destroy the competitive edge of slave-wage communist China (and upcoming India, SE Asia) once and for all. Moving the dependency to Vietnam doesn't accomplish anything.

I got bumped last night from July 12 to July 26 production date… this is infuriating. Starting to consider cancelling.

Guys waiting for a 2021…. This isn’t a good sign for you.

Ford and GM both did the exact same thing with orders to their suppliers for chips when the pandemic hit and to Ford the F150 is a lot more valuable to produce than the Mustang.

i sincerely hope this does not happen to you all!

So what’s interesting about this is GM stresses it’s NOT related to the chip shortage. I think the C8 production is fraught in other ways.

GM also stressed there was no defect in C7 GS and Z wheels… there’s no issue with heads in the C6…

It sure isn’t from lack of orders or buyers.

If it looks like a duck and sounds like a duck and quacks like a duck…

just my opinion
