I have been looking for some tires for regular street everyday use - I live in FL.

Was quoted some Hankook Ventus tires but could not figure out what new options were available to keep my stock sizes - discount tire told me that the Michelin tires would be miss matched if I wanted a summer tire in the back due to the sizes I was requesting.

It seems most folks are looking for track tire replacements but I probably will see the track a small handful of times if ever.

Can anyone help me here - I have seen the P4S tires are popular but are smaller size and I didn’t know if there are newer options to consider.

Thank you in advance!

I am also a new owner waiting on delivery - should be here in 2 weeks!! 2018 Gt350 R lead foot grey with electronics.

Go 305f and 325r. Going to a slightly wider rear will open up your choices. Best options are Michelin 4S, Conti SportContact and Bridgestone S007A. Can’t go wrong with any of those for sumner tires.

Would you then do 325/30/19 or 325/25/19?

I called discount tire and they couldn’t provide those choices above. I will need to call around some more

I’ve never seen 325/25/19s. I just installed N0 (Porsche-spec) SC2s in 325/30/19s on my R. They are slightly wider than the quarter panels. I don’t care for the look, but hoping they last a little longer than the Ford-spec 315/30/19s.

With 3 degrees neg camber I’m now looking at 6 days on my fronts (before chorded during 4th or 5th) and maybe some part of a 7th (have a spare set of cf wheels so can just swap out). To be fair I havnt done M1 concourse yet this year and it seems to be the most murdrous on the brakes and outside tires compared to the other circuits I do. The rear is oem and can only get -1.1 camber, nevertheless have done 10 track days on my current rears (with one rotate) and they look like at least another 5-7 days left in them. Pretty happy.

I’ll eventually try out the Porsche spec tires, maybe if a winter deal comes along (they were under $400 shipped last winter), but have quite a few slightly older R cup 2 left. I actually have 7 rears which is too many rears now that I’m getting 15+ days (a full season for me) and probably need to sell a set. If anyone wants 2 315/30/19 cup 2 tires for $500 plus shipping, send me a message. Alternatively I’d trade the 315’s for a set of front 305’s even since I need more fronts.

If the size/appearance is important to you, you should really consider the Conti Extreme Contact, but make sure you get the Sport. It would be a competitor for something like the 4S. And the reason I keep brining this up is because the Conti 325/30 runs quite a bit smaller than the 325/30 Michelin. Noticeably so once mounted. This was the main reason I went with the Conti...it looks and fits significantly better than the Michelin. Just me personally, so no offense, but I cannot stand the sidewall shape/size of the 4S. But my no means is the Conti Sport a slouch in any category either. IMO, it'll stick with the 4S (at my capability anyways) any day!

Thanks for you help everyone.

One question for you galaxy - would you not want more sidewall to help protect the wheel from driving around town? I have a Raptor right now so I don’t even think about it but my last car that I had - BMW 550 cracked a wheel from hitting a small pot hole.

Nope. The Conti still has a rim protector section of the tire like most low profile tires these days. And even though I like it cause it runs smaller than the 325 Michelin, it's still not as stretched as the stock 315, so you've got just as much protection as you do with that or anything else.

Hello, I saw your post and I am new to the Forum. I really want to buy an R but do not want to drive on the PS2 tires and wanted to see where you landed on changing the tire sizes to fit the 4s (love that tire) or go with the Conti for a better look (based on what I saw in this string). Did you do 305/30/19 and 325/30/19 rear?
