Any chance this is normal? Picking up car, not looking good.

Just thought of something Michael.....
Exactly what specs are you looking for?
Also, we have members of this forum all over the country. Maybe have one of us check out the car before you fly in???
Lots of them here in my area, including a GT500.

My driver side has touch-up paint on the fender screws. It doesnt look as sloppy as the OP's, but its obviously been adjusted. I always thought it was odd, but everything seems fine with the hood and fender fitment.

So after flying in to buy this car and being assured it was top notch, I walked. The fender had been bent as well and the gap between the hood in fender was 5mm at the very least. I drove the car to a body shop down the street and upon inspection I found a significant dent in the rear quarter panel just above the wheel well. The fit and finish of the car was bad and some sort of damage had occurred. Iā€™m quite disappointed that someone wasted my time and money.
Very sorry to hear about your bad experience!:frown:

Having said that I am curious as to why you would not get one of our members to check in on your car and help provide some feedback as to the good, bad and ugly on your new GT350 model??

Happens man, you did the right thing. Things happen for a reason, that wasnt the car for you.

I purchased my GT350 and a 2003 Lightning from out of state, and i had to speak candidly with both salesman. I asked for tons of photos of every panel on the vehicle before I flew out. Told them....salesman and all bullsh*t aside, is this car legit and does it have any issues? curbrash, dents, dings, accidents, because I will find it when I see it in person. They both said its near flawless, with the Lightning salesman calling me back later in the day letting me know the front grill and hood had been replaced with OEM parts by the previous owner. You just need to be stern with these people and let them know not to waste your time and most times they will come clean.

Regardless of the model I suggest that you made the right move!

Very sorry to hear about your unexpected and problematic body panel/dent issues.

That's disappointing but definitely the right decision.

Unfortunately a lot of these S550 cars tend to arrive with the fenders not exactly aligned with the hood.

probably because of the order of operations. bumpers likely go on before the trunk or bonnet. And once the hood is on and "aligned" there is no rework station to re-hang the bumper for it's alignment. And the QC station is either never manned or the guy is drunk and cross-eyed.

My 2015 GT and my 350 both had touch up paint on the fender screws. I'd say it's pretty common for panel alignment QA. As far as the dent in the rear QP who knows?

My 16R had the left front fender pop out after a few weeks after I picked it up. Apparently, the front fender/fascia clip on the left fronts is weak, or they get pulled on in the fit/finish process.

Is this car new or used? Because if new it's unacceptable and scary how QA at ford works.

Car dealerships suck. They should have been open with you on the issues and defects on the car before you traveled all the way out there. It's why you cannot trust anything when buying a car even if brand new.
