I split time between my R and my RS. both are very, very fun. I did a mountune b4 power kit on my RS and it did wonders for the fun factor. We picked up my wife's Nitrous Blue Focus RS on a Saturday after the recall was taken care of. Let me say this little car is awesome. It feels like my 15 GT PP when it comes to straight line performance and handles even better. If I didn't have my GT350 I know I'd be bugging my wife to drive it more!
what NorCal dealership?I just ordered 3 RS and have 3 on the ground (they are on sale hold for recall) but I'm sure I can do msrp or VERY close in Northern California. The 3 I ordered yesterday can still be edited.
For competitive or hardcore track use I can see the shortcomings seriously come to play... but for occasional HPDE track days my biggest concern really is the lack of camber adjustments. The Oil temp gets up there but (knock on wood) no RDU or high temp issues for my experience so far. The good thing is aftermarket companies such as Vorshlag are R&D'ing solutions for improvements their products will address. The car is a blast to drive... 4 track days so far and still loving it!I considered buying an RS, but decided against it after I read Vorshlag's development thread. http://www.vorshlag.com/forums/showthread.php?p=58381
Wow, that was a tough review. Thorough arguments with well reasoned points. If I were buying an RS for anything more than DD duty I'd have to think twice about it after reading that. For a DD though, none of what Vorshlag had to say about track performance would matter.I considered buying an RS, but decided against it after I read Vorshlag's development thread. http://www.vorshlag.com/forums/showthread.php?p=58381
Nice!! And ha! I have been RS hooning the tracks with my 18" OZ Racing wheels since July... they're all holding up very well. But not the tires, obviously... these are the fronts that really take a beating especially on the outer regions due to lack of adjustable camber. 4 track days and 10 autox runs later...My RS is still on a boat heading home, but parts have started to roll in! It's factory equipped with 19" forged wheels and Cup2 tires. I don't want to drive those daily, so I ordered set a 18" OZ's with some PSS.
