if you have instagram, go to @ibcelln_fords . The orange one you post is his (Christian's)car. You can ask himfrom a couple of pictures it looks like it would have extra clearance but idk
Our GT500 hood for the factory GT500 was tooled from Ford's OE part. Our GT500 Style for the GT350 is approximately 1" taller in the center to clear the strut brace in the engine compartment. These two hoods are not interchangeable for either model car.has anyone bought and installed this hood any pictures what was fitment like and is it taller in the middle does it give more clearance under the hood
so in theory I could use this hood on my 350 with a cj manifold without using drop engine mountsOur GT500 hood for the factory GT500 was tooled from Ford's OE part. It kinda sounds like 1" taller means taller than the GT500 profile so that there's clearance for the GT350 strut brace, not necessarily 1" taller than the OEM GT350 hood.so in theory I could use this hood on my 350 with a cj manifold without using drop engine mounts
No, we started with the GT350 OE hood that we make and increased the height for the vent to clear the strut brace. The vent is very similar in design as the GT500. The vents are not interchangeable. It kinda sounds like 1" taller means taller than the GT500 profile so that there's clearance for the GT350 strut brace, not necessarily 1" taller than the OEM GT350 hood.
We did not test fit this hood for a cj manifold.so in theory I could use this hood on my 350 with a cj manifold without using drop engine mounts
Fundamentally, the question is whether you meant there's 1" additional clearance between strut tower brace and the underside of the hood as compared to an OEM GT350 hood. No, we started with the GT350 OE hood that we make and increased the height for the vent to clear the strut brace. The bottom of the hood with the added vent required approximately 1" added to the center to clear the strut bar. So if you changed or added height to the engine intake system over stock, you would technically still have hood clearance issue. thank you for the picture do you have one of the underside gt350 carbon hood for comparison also how long are lead times on the gt500 style hood very interestedThe bottom of the hood with the added vent required approximately 1" added to the center to clear the strut bar.
