I was running a Anderson Composite carbon fiber diffuser with dual with for awhile. I really enjoy the AWE Switchpath catback exhaust setup and was always wanted to convert to AWE quad tips setup and an Anderson Composite carbon fiber diffuser with quad tip. Well, I attempted it and unfortunately, it will need modifications. So this is for anyone who may want to attempt this in the future.

You will need to cut the carbon fiber to make this fit. I used a dremel to cut the carbon. Will post the final product later, maybe over the weekend. I purchased just the AWE axel backs quad tips version that was made to fit the OEM GT350 valances (AWE have one that fits the MP Concepts GT350 valance too).

Updated: September 6, 2019 (additional photos below on 99% final product)

Also, the AC diffuser fitment sucks. Either have a pro fit it or live with it like I do:

Final product at 99% complete. I just need to find some trims or black covers to wrap the edges I cut. Its not great, but look good for now. The big gap sucks and makes the tips look small. I can finally drive the car around until I have some more time to work on this car next year. Feel free to ask me anything that may help you with your install.

I chose to use my old tips as I still like them and mix it in with the new tips:

Thanks for sharing. Just ordered my AC diffuser. 9-12 weeks production time.
I have plenty time to figure out what I'm gonna do now.

Maybe Josh at AWE can shine a light on the physical differences between the two versions of the quads?

I ran into a similar issue when I tried to fit a 2018 Mustang Magnaflow quad tip into the GT350 valence. I had hoped that when I removed the fake tips in the GT350 valence , the hole that was left would be accommodating for the Magnaflow exhaust tips to sit within … well.... I was wrong. Lol. I had to switch out to the Roush valence, which worked out to fit the 2018 Magnaflow tips to perfection.

Hopefully you got some nice clean cuts on the carbon... would be a shame to have butchered it up for the AWE :-(

Well I am glad that you posted this because this is the only diffuser that I was going to go with when I do my base to premium bumper conversion. Was looking to get 18+ borla axle backs to fit the diffuser but now I might go with the single tip. Quad tip looks amazing though

Does anyone know if the OEM 2018+ quad tip mufflers will align with a GT350 rear valance?

When you mentioned the Roush valence, I went and look at some additional pictures of it. From what I can see, the AC quad valence will probally fit a Roush quad tip exhaust. I like the Roush exhaust system with the active controls, but can't get over the fact of the price on it and the x-pipe. I can easily change the x-pipe to a h-pipe, but can't easily fork over $2k for the entire setup. I like the AWE SwitchPath, but with Cali new exhaust laws and hearing other people getting pulled over for having a loud exhaust, makes me not want to drive it and the Roush active exhaust more appealing lol.

Cutting in the carbon sucks, but I figured for now, it's the cheapest option at the moment assuming I don't crack it lol.

I ran single tips for a while and always thought Ford should've just given the 2015+ Mustangs quad tips from the beginning. Everytime I look at the rear of stang, I want quad tips! However, some quad tips won't come without some modifications lol

From the AWE tread I posted this back in May:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...ailable-now-as-dual-or-quad-tip.77430/page-33

I got this reply from Anderson Composites. So now I need to find out if the AWE tips fit with the Roush one. Hope this info is useful for any of us.

We designed our 2015 - 2017 MUSTANG CARBON FIBER REAR DIFFUSER FOR QUAD TIP EXHAUST P/N AC-RL15FDMU-ARQ 5 years ago, we based it on the Roush quad tip exhaust system. It does not match the Shelby GT350 diffuser and we know nothing about the MPC diffuser, sorry.

No they will not fit. I tried a 2018 exhaust with my GT350 valence, didn't even come close.

Hi! The difference lies in the center (left and right) spacing of the tip merges.

Bolded text caused me to cringe, Lars :surprised:. FYI, people have ran the Roush valance using our 2018+ quad rear sections as they are different than the 15-17 quad versions. I would figure the Roush valance was designed around their exhaust, so that could be an avenue for your investigation.

Updated the original post with more photos. Didn't really take up close pictures, but let me know if anyone wants them since I am driving the car more now.

I don't get this part: 'spacing of the tip merges'.
Can U elaborate or even better post some pictures showing the difference?

Okay so if I'm reading this right, the 18+ axle-back quad version fit in the Roush valance, which again the AC valance is designed after?

Anyone here tried this setup and have pictures?

These are pictures from the AWE site. The pictures are not taken from the exact same angle, especially the ones from the underside, but I think still give a good idea of what the difference is. I tried to compare and overlap them in photoshop.
The pictures from straight behind shows that the +18 tips sits a little more towards the middle than the 15-17 ones.
The pictures from the underside I just me trying to see if the hangers, and the corresponding holes on the car is in the same location. And I think they are.

Let me know what U guys think....
