Does your local dealer have an unfilled allocation for a 2020 GT350R?

When I went looking for an allocation a few months back I was entirely out of luck since the order banks were about to close for 2020 and no one was sitting on an unfilled allocation, especially for an -R. But that was a few months ago, the factory was closed and everyone was still unsure about the future of the 2020 MY production....maybe the situation has changed?

I want to place an order of a 2020 Shelby GT350R, but my local dealership says there is a waiting list of 6 months. Is this true? Also, I don’t want my car is been built in winter season, so I need to know when is the best time to order it avoiding winter and delivered in 2021?

It may be too late to get an ordered GT350R built at all for 2020. No more 350s in '21.

You'd have to find a bona fide allocation that has not been assigned a VIN yet to be able to order it to your specification.

Never say never, but it is very late in the game.

I would suggest you take the 2020 MY GT350 VIN Tracker spreadsheet found elsewhere on this forum and start calling dealers with -R cars on order ASAP to see if any of them are unsold. You might get lucky and find one.

I tried to find an allocation in April with no luck. I was lucky enough to find one already built to my spec at msrp. Finding an allocation now is going to be very hard and your best bet is to check the spreadsheet and use the view local inventory on the ford site. Start punching in zip codes for all the major cities and work your what around the county. Enough info has leaked out to strongly support this is the last year of the 350 so if you want one you better start searching right away.

As others have said, the dealership has to have a allocation for a GT350R to be able to order one.
Also the 2020 order banks will be closing soon. Probably next month but I don’t know exactly when.

Look at the value of the entire collection they're selling off. Quite incredible sale.

The three GT350's at 62,900.00 ea are about the lowest priced cars they have listed. There are a few really nice Ford's. They also have everything up to and including a Bugatti Veyron. May have to go take a look some time.

Car finally arrived. I was fortunate to find a new left over 2019 R with less than 8 miles across the country.
Was able to make a deal with an otd price below msrp all done by phone and email. The car arrived 4 days after it was loaded thanks to Fred Mills from Advantage Auto Transport.

I was hunting for a white "R" when the Ford dealer in Moses Lake had earlier this year. Unfortunately, the guy in who pulled in the parking lot before me bought it, literally. So I hunted down a black Non-R with all the options and am perfectly happy. Where is Washington state are you located?

I cant imagine the feeling. I would probably have traced back my steps of that day asking myself only if I skipped this I would have been there much sooner. Oh well things happen for a reason. Sounds like it worked out better with saving more money and still getting the all preferred options.

White has always been my preference with either blue or silver as a second choice but the black painted roof was a requirement. Local dealers were asking ADM for a 20' build R when I started shopping so had to expand my search. There was a dealer in Vancouver, WA with the exact same 19' spec R this last spring also in the showroom but they were firm with their price. I was lucky to find one in the east coast with my preferred build and learned it sat in the showroom with its original delivery miles.
