My wife and I want to go on one next year for our 10 year anniversary. So, who has gone? What cruise line did to take? What did you like/not like? I'd appreciate any feedback that you're willing to share. Thank you in advance.

We went on Holland America in 2015 , from Vancouver to Seward then inland by rail and bus to Denali and flew back fro Fairbanks to Portland
HA were great and the inland part was seamless as they have their own rail coaches etc
Boats aren't too big (about 1400 passengers)
We were so impressed we have now booked another cruise with them in October round the top of Australia fro Brisbane to Perth
Whoever you choose make sure:
They go into Glacier Bay
Go to Denali National Park
Do the White Pass and Yukon rail trip at Skagway
I don't think the direction of travel matters much

Hope this helps

Cheers

I've been there 4 times, all on Princess. I don't have any complaints. One of the trips was a round trip from Seattle, I recall some of the ports we did not spend a lot of time due to the travel time and a tight schedule. I think the north south or south to north 1 way trip is better. 3 of my trips were cruises and the last 1 was a 5 day land tour plus the cruise. The Princess lodges were very nice, no complaints there. That White Pass and Yukon rail trip out of Skagway that POJ 1 mentioned is really spectacular! Well worth the money. In Ketchikan the excursion to Misty Fjords is another spectacular trip too. Both of them take up pretty much the whole day so there isn't much time for anything else at those 2 ports. In Juneau there's the Mendenhall Glacier, that thing is receding like crazy. Still its worth seeing. The cruises that included Glacier Bay were the best for me, its really amazing there. I've been there the first week of the season in May and its very pleasant, not cold at all even though there's snow still on the ground here and there. Went once in July and it was kind of warm, I think Alaska and I want it to be cool. I went late season towards the end of September and it was very nice. Kids back in school and in lots of the ports (the ship too) you can buy stuff at a huge discount so they don't have to stock it until the following year. When I went to Denali Park the actual time in the park wasn't that long. But its primitive and not geared to tourists in buses. Still you see some wide-open wild scenery without a telephone pole or anything to remind you of human civilization in sight. And lots of animals too!

I've been to Alaska 3 times, but only once by cruise.
We took Carnival, it was round trip out of Seattle, 7 days. It was the first cruise I had ever been on, and frankly I had zero complaints. We got a balcony room that luckiy was on the east side of the ship on the way up, so while the boat was moving we just sat on our balcony and watched scenery go by. It was fantastic.
My mother and her siblings (my aunts and uncles) also went as did my sister and her son(we all had our own rooms), and my aunts/uncles/mom enjoyed it so much they went back the next year. But they took Princess Cruise the next time, and they all said they thought Carnival was better.
I do think if you can swing it, one with more land time would be better, especially for a first trip.
I must have taken a bazillion pictures. A camera with a big zoom lens is a must.
Our trip was in August, and the temps were in the low 70's most of the time. We packed rain gear and never needed it. While on our balcony we spent a lot of time in shorts and sweatshirts.
One thing we did do different than the rest of my family, since we figured we might not ever get to Seattle again, we went out a couple of days early so we could see some sights there as well.
