Let me be clear, I love the handling, ride height, and stance of my non-magnaride Bullitt. Hell, I have put over 2.5k on it and I bought it a month ago. Unlike many of you, this is my first stang and I still giddy with the raw power / finesse this gremlin offers up (my original car / daily is an 05 ST focus). While the increased clearance and stiff suspension make this car fun for joyrides on curvy country roads, I would like to increase ride quality and improve the stance a bit when I go on highway trips. I would also like to raise my car so I can drive down "Texas driveways" w/o praying.

Thus, I am thinking of adding the "Air Lift Performance Air Suspension Kit 3H" kit to my Bullitt. If I buy the kit, my dealer has agreed to install for 1.2k in order to keep my B2B. I am thinking it should improve ride quality a bit for my pleasure days and allow for a slightly more aggressive stance for my fun days. I did a quick search for kit on the forums and most of what I got was people selling older kits for their 16-17 vehicles before trading them in.

Any thoughts / advice on this possible upgrade? Should I just rock the stock suspension for a bit longer and let it break in? Is this kit useless? Will this make Frank roll over in his grave?

To be clear, I am NOT looking for this kit to "park it and drop it" because... just no. I am looking at this kit from a functional standpoint as opposed to a cosmetic one. Also, this would be a spring / summer 2020 upgrade and it would push back my supercharger upgrade to summer / fall 2021.

If my GT didn’t have magride I would’ve kept my air ride kit from my Focus ST and used the comps, tank, lines and such and would be on air now. I like the ride on magride, but something about a properly set up air ride that just soo great. Only reason I really miss my old car.

Noted, and that focus looks sweet as hell! I am seeing a lot of dual pump setups for older mustangs on this forum. Did you ever have bat drain issues with 2 pumps?

i never had a issue with it. The dual pumps was just my old school self and always have a back up. Back in the day pumps were not as reliable as today. Just kinda stuck. Plus cutting down on fill time and pumps running.

Would you suggest the ridetech over the Airlift?
id 10000% by a airlift 3H again. I know they have some nice kits, but the heritage and the company just are great. I was heading to a show in my Isuzu and pump froze up water froze in the lines, manifold frozen, just all sucked. A friend knew a friend that knew someone at Airlift and they bring me out line, manifolds and a compressor and got me running on the side of I10. We worked on my old stuff got it cleaned and running. Gave them back their stuff and paid for the extra comp. just above and beyond. I’ll probably always stuck with them. I’d love to figure out a magride shock with a air ride bag haha.

I’d be so disappointed if you didn’t do a decent trunk setup, green tanks, black comps, and green LEDs lol

I’d suggest that you use the AirLift bags but SERIOUSLY consider the Accuair Endo CVT tank and brains. Having the compressor INSIDE the tank is much quieter and makes for a tidier install and it should stop the frozen line issues etc etc.
You won’t destroy the handling with bags either. Ok, they don’t compete with high-end coilovers but they’re FAR superior to the stock dampers and springs. It’s not a decision I regret in any way.

My mind is already running through setups, but that endo tank looks pretty sick. If only they had a green powder coat.

Got some bad news. The bullitt bag plan is on hold.

My dealership confirmed that the full install of the 3H (which request some additional drilling; linking to fuses; ect.) would void my b2b in fords eyes. They would state my case to ford, but it would be an uphill battle. The 3H is the only way I would use air-ride. The ability to control based on height and have the system monitor that height was what attracted me to air-ride in the first place.

I had planed the install through "Classy House Productions" out of the DFW area. Here is a link to their site for anyone interested. The price quoted was very, very good.

As such, I have decided to go FULL ON PERFORMANCE for the suspension. Just order the steave mcqueen suspension pack from Steeda. Rodney was a great help and the entire kit was a steal.

I think we whittled the price down to 3k out the door. My ford guys will likely charge me about .8 to 1k for the full install.
