Has anyone installed aftermarket rims on their GT350R?

Tried to install my 6GR wheels on Saturday and the wheel studs are much longer on the R than they are on a standard GT350.

Got some open end wheel studs from Gorilla but now think I may have an issue with a long enough socket to engage the stud properly.

Any insight you have would be helpful.

You will need a special "deep" socket to mount the wheels with the open lugs.

Thanks, I came to the same conclusion. Now the challenge is finding one that will fit in the barrel of the lugnut hole. Pretty tight .....

Have to measure that ID and see what will work out.

I believe my deep well impact socket 19mm fit by the slightest of margins into the lug hole on my 6GR wheels on my 350R. I got them on somehow lol

My 6G wheels came with nuts (but have not yet tried to mount them). Do they not fit on R model studs?:confused:

The open lugs that come with the wheels fit fine, but the studs on the R are much longer and most sockets are not deep enough to be able to torque the nuts down.

There in lies the potential problem.

I was able to source a 6" deep socket so I am hoping that the Gorilla open end nuts and the new socket fix the situation.

Has anyone tried to put the rear 6GR wheels on the front with spacers? It may solve the long stud problem and turn it into a rotatable setup.

What I ended up with is open chrome Gorilla lug nuts in the front and closed in the back.

The studs on the front extend past the lugnut by about 5/8".

Not *exactly* what I wanted to end up with, but look good. I am going to replace the standard black 6GR plain caps with a set of Ford GT350 caps to add a little more color.
