Aftermarket Transmission Cooler Noisy Pump

I performed the aftermarket transmission cooler install on my base Shelby from the very helpful advice located in the forum. I purchased the Mocal pump like several others. This pump is extremely noisy. Are there any pumps that are pretty quiet? I would pay extra for a quiet pump. The noisy pump is not a show stopper because I will only use it at the track but I would definitely prefer a quieter pump. If you've done the aftermarket cooler and found a quiet pump please let me know the model.

remount it with some rubber isolating it from the car will help.

Well, it is hard to compare pump noise levels. I can hear my RB Racing pump at idle but not when I am driving nor listening to music. I like hearing it to know that is working but can get annoying when I am parked but I turn it off pretty much at that point anyway. I have not moved the switch inside the car yet. Surprisingly, nobody asks me about the pump noise at the track, I guess they have probably seen/heard all kinds of different things. I have used my cooler during the hot summer days when commuting to work, as I find the transmission temp to get over 200 otherwise.

I just installed a Weldon electric pump and it's pretty loud. I haven't heard of a quiet pump as of yet. It is what it is.

In my experience, the Mocal Gear Pump http://www.improvedracing.com/oil-p...fluid-circulation-gear-pump-17-311-p-605.html is noticeably quieter than the Mocal Diaphram pump.

I am using the Mocal gear pump on my diff cooler and it can be heard when sitting but not very noticeable when driving.

RB pump with rubber isolator (comes with them). At idle with no music I can hear it. Otherwise can't. This is with it mounted near the passenger door hinges behind the fender liner.

Another benefit is it is uses gears to pump the fluid and designed for hot engine oil from a turbo. You should mount it gear pump down which requires some height in the mounting location.

I use both the Mocal diaphragm pump and the Mocal gear pump and the gear pump is the quieter one.

Yes it is the diaphragm pump, and yes they are noisier than the gear type.
