Nobody has time to hand tighten. Just get good lug nuts and move on hahaha
Lol - it is what it is... BUT you shouldn't be using an impact at all on any of these, really.

I use a battery operated Milwaukie impact, but hand torque to spec. The battery powered impact doesn't have enough power to come close to the correct torque, it only acts as a speed tool.

You simply have the wrong Milwaukee impact, hahhahaha ;)

Any sockets available that won't mar the finish on the Ford black lug nuts?
I have the same concern regarding my black Gorilla brand lug nuts I noted in post #8 above. Someone else had previously noted in a different thread that Lowe's sells anti-marring sockets. I found that they sell a Craftsman 1/2" drive, 6 point, 17/18/19 mm sized Wheel Socket Set, item # CMMT98282, listed as having a "thin wall design" with an "anti-scratch sleeve". If I recall they cost around $25.00, and were located among the Craftsman tools that Lowe's now sells.

I haven't had a need to use them yet, so I cannot attest to whether they'll live up to their advertised promise, but I mention them for possible consideration.

I have the Craftsman wheel socket set and they’re pretty good. The cover on the outside does a good job of protecting the wheel from scratching. My gorilla lugs for my stock wheels (my winter set) are a little beat up but it’s more from the winter weather than the socket. Just be aware that some of the Gorilla lugs are splined and come with their own socket. I haven’t noticed any marring on my splined lugs but I’ve only put them on and taken them off once so far. I will be putting them on again in a month or so

Those sockets are anti-marring for protecting the wheels, not the lug nuts. Need a super-thin layer of plastic to line the inside of the socket, not sure anyone makes one.

Spraying a thin layer of plastic-dip on the inside of the socket might do the trick. I’ve been contemplating getting a cheaper socket to test it out on

If you buy the wheel kit, they come with Gorilla lugs. I have the SVE CFX (GT500 CFTP replicas) and they came with the Gorilla spline lugs
I’m not sure those would work on the R carbon wheels. I do like those tho! Trying to find a closed lug nut in black that would compliment the R rims

Gorilla does make a black lug that has the OEM acorn. Not sure if they’re long enough for the R studs though (they’re slightly longer studs if I remember correctly?)

Any “thin” plastic you use to protect your nuts will get destroyed during the 150lb torquing.
