Are you saying that getting too much air, or two air feeds may have a negative affect on the maf signal?
turbulence.

A good way to have an educated go at predicting the effectiveness of extra feeds on the road at least from a pure funtionality perspective - without a wind tunnel - is to use a magnehelic gauge to measure the pressure where you want to locate the intake. This can yield some interesting results, such as finding out that there are parts of the front of the car that aren't as high pressure as you might think. The other approach is to build the extra intake and then measure the change in pressure inside the airbox.

What are everyone’s thoughts on this?
In all seriousness this is all I did to control IAT's. I originally had it sealed to the hood But the PMAS was struggling for air believe it or not. So I put the gen2 heat shield back in and wrapped the tube. Also on the bottom right you can see I kept my old JLT snorkel to direct the incoming air. Also got rid of the honeycomb from the air inlet. Failures on my part brings simple solutions on my part haha. Cheers.

I like this idea a lot! What is the ideal range on the gauge for this purpose? Any brand gauge better than another? Thanks

How much of a difference in IATs and an increase in power did these changes make for you WildHorse? My air intake snorkel is slightly different that yours, although I do have a little honeycomb nonfunctional vent in the bottom corner of the front bumper.

IAT like the stock airbox. 1-5 degrees above ambient when cruising. Biggest thing was takes longer to heat up (just a little quicker than the stock airbox), but very fast to cool down when moving. Like stupid fast.

I have some foam/foil hvac insulator wrapped on my PMAS tube as well, although not nearly as much as you. I don't have the elbow wrapped either. I shoved my velossatech in there to block some of the radiator backwash and all this has made a pretty big difference vs. just the original PMAS stuff. I have a larger foam tube going around the top of the heat shield to seal it up better against the hood, are you saying I should remove this?

Try both ways. The worst that can happen is either it works, or it doesn't. Cheers.

I stumbled across this very interesting video regarding the functionality of the factory hood vents. About 1:30 into the video, they give a demonstration.

good vid. Everytime the facebook 'experts' say those are heat extractors, I always point out this vid haha. Anyways, that's why I don't like grill deletes or aftermarket front end pieces. None of those aftermarket companies do wind tunnel tests, and the products are more then likely detrimental to aerodynamics.

What did you wrap the tube with ? and does the installtion require you to install a certain size on the CAI and the other to the engine compartment or not?
