3 compressors in 2 years seems very bizarre. Was both replacement ford factory parts ?
If yes, i would look to another issue that caused the compressors to go bad
Hot air by itself is not always due to compressor fault, could be low charge, pressure switch, etc

Be sure and replace the drier also when you do and vacuum it down. You may have contaminants in the line. Water is a big contaminant and vacuuming it removes it by "boiling" it off. I have replaced a ton of AC compressors now, probably a dozen in my lifetime, and never had one issue but I always replace the drier as part of the change out and vacuum it for a good hour or two.

Ford dealer was the ones that have done the work both times. I've seen others with this same issue.

Mine ate two compressors but the whole time it was a leaky evaporator and dealer wasn't even checking it for leaks the first four times I brought it in.

I am also on my 3rd compressor in 3 years. I talked to the service writer and he swears they completely flush the system before installing a new compressor.

I'm sure that is what the tech told him..........

Is this more common on the Voodoo? Maybe the higher redline contributes to more compressor failures?

I think so. And the AC sucks. I honestly barely use the AC since i've lived in Washington and Coastal Socal. HOWEVER, I had a very interesting alternator failure at 19k miles. I use all the RPM on my car, so not surprised it failed hearing about so many AC/Alternator failures on this engine. I was using an Antigravity ATX20-HD at the time of alternator failure and it was trying to bump 16+v into the battery shortly before i removed it and moved back to lead acid, but the alternator was still toast and needed replacement. Not sure if it was the alternator failing because of normal high revving mountain driving circumstances, or because of the Lithium battery i used for 2 months.

Feel your pain. Went through this with my '16 GT. Thankfully it was still under warranty. Hoping to have no issues with my '22 GT 🤞🏽

Mine went out at 15,000 miles. The clutch went first it sounded like a coffee grinder, the compressor wasn't damaged.
Ford only sells the combo you can't just get the clutch. $1800 to replace.
Mechanic told me to be sure AC and front defroster are off before you start hitting it above 6,000 RPMS I guess the clutch can't take the higher Rev's

When are we starting the class action lawsuit on this one? Needs to happen…Ford needs to recognize the fault here and make folks whole on repair costs / compensate for replacement non-faulty parts. VW had to do the same many times on older GTIs I owned, random issues like water pump failure… I still get mail from attorneys on those. Needs to happen.

So for those wondering or for anyone with similar issues.... After one month and lots of BS..... I finally have my car back. At the end of the day both lines and the compressor were bad. Spoke with the service tech many, many, many times and he finally admitted that the compressor can't handle being physically spun as fast as the 5.2 has it go and will compromise the lines and eventually kill it. I'll leave the arguments be about me not being happy with Ford originally not honoring my service plan.... But by the end they did and covered it all, including the deductible. Compressor.. Two lines.. Ecav.. Refill and hours would have been 1600...knock on wood it lasts a bit longer then 11 months this time. 😁

Sounds like a class action lawsuit is in order. Same as others, the tech told me to "not rev it so fast." So Ford has provided a compressor that clearly (given so many replacements) cant handle the fast RPM increase of the voodoo. Lawsuit. Not it *thumb on table*.

I turn the seat coolers on and the Ac off when I'm going to be hitting it hard
