If I'm thinking of the same axles, the Gt350 axles aren't rated for anything major, as they're the OEM equipment for GT350. Just a tad stronger than OEM GT axles. Personally I'd run some DSS axles for safety reason, especially on anything over 700 whp and on a sticky tire.
They have held 800-850 RW on many cars.

7th gear clutch in the A10 could be a concern, assuming you hit 7th in the quarter.

Are you running Bias ply or radials? Highest launch rpm?

Since switching to the 315/50/17 ET Street R's, I don't hit 7th, and shouldn't until 144mph.

I have the same concerns about 7th gear. I'm planning on having my transmission tuned before next season, hoping to peak in 6th gear as I hit the traps.
Not sure if that's a good plan or not... What gear (or ratio) do you guys recommend??

Radials, and launching at 1500. No converter yet.
With the stock converter, I launch at 1750 RPM in 1st gear of my A10 transmission. However, after getting a tip from another racer (via YouTube), I learned that I can launch in 2nd gear at 2500 RPM.

Try the calculator at: https://www.blocklayer.com/rpm-gear.aspx you can enter in all your specifics, and get the optimal gearing to get your results.

I think that is a bit high. Ive been 142mph on 685whp. What transmission do you run? That may help with recommendations for the items you mentioned.
BTW, I did let off before the finish line, as shown on the Draggy.

I feel my car is at the limit on several components. My entire internal engine and drivetrain is stock except a set of GT350 axles. Only power mods are Procharger P1X and a fuel system. Car has run a best of 10.20/138, and a best 60' of 1.62. I do have a STH starter kit & drag springs, and some big mickeys. I feel like the aluminum rear diff, and stock driveshaft is on borrowed time. I may need to start at the back, and beefup going forward.
with chicago winter just about here, id say now would be a good time to beef up the drivetrain. i know less than anyone here about the limits of the S550 drivetrain, as im new to this chassis and havent done any huge power mods or traction, but i do know that i hate the feeling of taking a car out and knowing that certain components are likely on borrowed time, and always wondering in my mind if that day will be the day i break something and end up on a flatbed.

Yes, I agree it is ready for an Iron Diff, one a one piece drive shaft.
