I get that you don't want the dealer to touch your car. I don't like it either. My fear is doing this repair myself would effectively mean that I might be on my own should I have a problem with the engine later down the line. It also means you will still have an outstanding recall as far as Ford is concerned and that could make selling or trading it a problem

Give this man a cookie. Outstanding recalls don't fare well when it comes to resale or visits to the dealer or warranty claims.

He owns a tech and is modifying his car for the coolers. It is really good work. For us Track and R owners I agree and will wait for the warranty repair. Will I like it, no but it is covered under warranty and my work is not.

Ah, that makes sense. Since his car did not have the cooler initially, there should not be a recall on his car I would imagine.

This is a modification to the OIL Lines....I know someone at Ford who will remove my car from the recall list....so no issue with that. I'm beyond worrying about a warranty...I worry more about blowing an oil line on a track day and burning the car to the ground more than if I a dealer is going to faced with doing a warranty claim themselves on a recall...I bought this car to drive and track. I knew I would be adding coolers if I got the Tech..Didnt know I would be faced with oil lines that don't stay put...but luckily I have an amazing shop that can handle anything I throw at them. .I'm not going to let the car sit till Ford figures it out..we have seen their solution...its no better than the hoses they are already installing..In the end, Ill have all the track capabilities of a Track Pack with the comfort and convenience of the Tech pack...exactly as planned.

I had the very same thought. I never like compression fittings.

Can you elaborate on how the AN fittings (I assumed you provided) attach to the original cooler ports? I can not tell from your pic how they attach. Threaded, or what?

Thanks for posting.

I'll have the recall performed and reinstall the custom lines. It's easy to do...

Seconded. At least the name of the type of fitting for the OEM oil cooler so I can find/make my own adapter to AN fittings.

These fittings did not exist as stated above and look closely at this picture. TonyJ5150 stated that he welded two fittings together to get the fitting in the picture. So it was a custom item.
I ended up going with custom setup myself purchasing a derale unit and running the lines for my transmission cooler setup.
