It has even higher rates of people trying to "believe" their way out of dying. Modern sanitation, medicine, and the science behind both, have rendered that deadly disease almost nonexistent in the 1st world. If only we'd treat all diseases the same.
Show me numbers that show there is a statistical significance in difference in mask being worn and not worn (among areas that are similar; like states to states in the US or similar European countries). I have been watching the data on worldometers since the beginning and it seems to be all about the same when similar areas are compared.

wrong thread. You want to pursue that over here -> https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...science”-in-wuhan.162960/page-18#post-3320897

Let the grumpy Mik the Kind alone or he'll start chopping off heads.

Here, plenty of studies to read as well if you want the hard data:

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/science/science-briefs/masking-science-sars-cov2.html

Now I'd like similar data on whether believing you can't get sick has prevented infection.

I'm fucking done.
I looked at the report, it quotes other reports, doesn't show the data (just the results of the data). Was trying to have an intellectual conversation about it, as the virus appears to be here to stay (even post vaccine as people are contracting it post vaccine). I am capable of analyzing data myself, and don't need studies that have insignificant sample sizes that are trying to back a policy. I believe in the virus, caught the virus, have had the vaccine (and the booster), wear a mask when required, and so on. I think many people want to believe to hard in some things, make sure they are supporting their side, and we miss the forest for the trees. Looking at the data in its entirety, trying to remove an political bias, there seems to be little difference. The data I looked at is in the link below. If you compare similar Scandinavian countries (some were much less strict on mask policies), and also compare states in the US (again, very differing policies and actual adherence to policies) it all is about the same. If the mask is not as effective as many want it to be, we should take a different approach to how we are trying to solve the problem; instead of trying the same thing again which did not work. But we can just continue to ignore the data, and hope and believe as we know that works.
