I am working on adding driving lights to the front grill. I opted for using lights from a Pony grill off of a 05-09 Mustang due to their smaller size. This is still a work in progress but here is what I have so far.
I used a 3 5/8th hole saw to drill the holes for the lights.
I chose to cut from the back and use the shoulder pointed at to rest the drill bit on to steady the saw.
This is how the lights look without the trim rings.
This is where I will probably get some laughs, the trim rings are modified cat food bowls. I took the same hole saw and cut the bottom out of them. Then trimmed them down to decrease the depth. Don't knock the DIVA! LOL!
Now obviously these will be painted satin black to match the grill, I just can't do the leopard print. I have filled the back side of these with fiberglass body filler to make them solid. I am going to drill the back side and attach them directly to the grill. I am also going to install studs so the driving lights can attach directly to them.
filled
sanded
a taste of how it will look installed, just imagine it black.
My favorite shot of the night, my son working on his 68 Mustang coupe. He is 13 and we are working on it together for his first car.
