Road and Track had a similar article... no mention of the 7.3 Godzilla engine... did not say it was an April Fools joke.

I would prefer the Expedition or maybe the Excursion platform, an extra large big block would fit nicely.:cwl:

Believe it all. Electric, SUV, and then some.

You guys said I was wrong:( I told you my friend at Ford who works in the Flat Rock Factory told me 2026ish (even later now). I actually think this is a smart move on Ford as this Mustang design is very hard to beat. I personally believe its because they designed a new SUV with the face of the Mustang and want to keep that look for a few years to pair it up with the Mustang.

2026ish seems reasonable, if not later.

It makes sense to keep it around a few more years at least. The last two generations had a 10 year run, and the fox body had a 15 year run. The fox body ran from 1979 to 1993, then the SN-95's went from 94 to 04 and the S-197's ran from 05 to 14. With each new body, the cost of engineering and design goes up forcing ford to keep it around longer to recoup their money. I would put money on it that our S-550's will be around for at least 10 years before a major redesign.

Who knows? The Mustang sells better than the Camaro and Challenger, but sales for the Mustang are still considered anemic. In a way I don't blame them for doing whatever they have to for more sales, but like we've seen in the past some decisions have been disasters. I guess we will see.

Other than the updated time line, it's old news. I heard about it around a year ago. For the mustang to remain financially viable they have to borrow the platform from some thing else, and since all cars except the mustang are going bye-bye, the CD-6 platform is the closest thing they have to use.
