Well 700+ anyways. I think that 600 incher is 1000hp @ 8000-ish rpm.

Real question is if ford offers a next gen 350 what motor y'all hoping for? Between the 5.2, 6.8, or7.3 If they could meet emissions requirements of course.....

I like the cross plane 5.2 but the torque of a 6.8 or 7.3 would be welcome along with the same or better HP. Looks like a lot more room for headers and turbos with the pushrod engine.

How about a proper flat plane crank with a center balance shaft???
I wouldn't mind a FPC, but a balance shaft is just extra weight. Delete that crap, I don't care if it buzzes a little at certain RPM. That's part of the charm in my opinion.

... isn't the ZZ572 over 720 HP?
Also there is a new 630 CI engine, not sure stats on that.
A lot of crate engines are for off road use only and don't meet emissions regulations, but I'm all for big ci.

IMO 5.2 is basically the same as a 5.0. If you're going to add displacement, add at least 25% or something. 4% additional displacement works in marketing lingo, but it's not much of an effort when building a "halo" engine. I don't think it needs to be another FPC engine, but it definitely should be naturally aspirated.

6.8 or 7.3 would be ok in a DOHC engine, but I'm not sure that c.i. with pushrods would make significantly more power than the current 5 point slow. Even 5.0 displacement might be ok if they changed the stroke/bore ratios, cams, heads, exhaust, etc. to get more power from it. For example, Porsche gets 500 HP from 4 liters. Using that math, Ford should be able to get 625 from the 5.0. To me, that would be a good next gen GT350 power figure. If they can't extract that from 5 liters, they should just increase displacement to get to that neighborhood. It should be doable with a 6 liter DOHC engine.

I may or may not have a buddy who does aftermarket design and testing on Ford fleet vehicles (Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifier), who has had access to a 6.8L for a while now. His assessment is it's basically a smaller 7.3 with a different intake. I tried to squeeze it out of him if Ford was putting it in a mustang, and he wouldn't come off it.

You guys gotta stop it. Right now. If the electric car guys hear this stuff, we’re gonna be in so much trouble. 😁

The GT350 is history. If it comes back it will be electric. While this is good news, I have no faith Ford cares about what we think. This group does not fit what Ford wants anymore

Aside from the odd chance the 7.3/6.8 makes it into the mustang, I think the push from FP is to phase out the SBF/BBF production. The 7.3/6.8 could simply be FP's primary and at some point only, pushrod offering.

7.3 all day anyday. Alloy block of course.
Any variant of the old mod motor always seems to have far too many issues.

What would be sweet is if Ford puts dual overhead cam heads on the 7.3
I would be okay with SOHC heads.

Honda has gotten some respectable hp and torque per liter from their SOHC V6s and I kinda thought "Too bad Honda never copied and pasted any more cylinders onto that."

If Ford applied overhead cams and that kind of hp/L to a 7.3L block...
7.3L x 81 hp/L = a lot 😇

But IMO not enough. It would be barely any more than the current Voodoo makes.
