Well i think it would also be important to know how @Lunar plans to drive his car. I'm sure your 3.73's work well for you on a prepped track with full suspension, drag tires, and centri blower. On the street would be an entirely different story.

Ha. I can tell I did not provide enough information. My car is an automatic and I drive in S and use the paddle shifters almost exclusively. I have 275/35 20 on front and 295/35 20 on rear. I do not plan on racing my car at all. All of my driving is between 0 and 110 tops. 99% between 0 and 95. I just want to make it more snappy in between stop lights and a lil more fun.

NA. Completely stock. My only performance plans, other than gears, has been a tuner and cold air and take. After reading tons of articles on here I am seriously thinking of just the tuneR/ no cai.

Well if you're not planning on supercharging. you will probably be ok with 3.73 gears. especially since you have heavier 20" wheels. A tune will definitely wake the car up. Since you live in Arizona with the hot climate I would stay away from any open CAI's. The stock one will work fine or even better a stock 2018 intake or the steeda closed intake. If you want to increase performance even further the 2018 intake manifold is definitely a good option. You will need to get a tune anyways to correct the speedometer and trans shift schedule for the gear swap since 3.73's didn't come stock on the 6R80 cars.

I've got 3.55 and going 3.15 because of zero traction on ET Street 305/45 until deep into second gear with the Edelbrock. If you look at all the fastest 6R80 cars they are predominately running 3.15 unless they have the 4R200 hub which changes first gear to 2.74 from the stock 4.17.

6R80/10R80 List

Not to say that if you race on a great track w/great prep you wouldn't benefit from a taller gear off the line.

Anyone doing anything higher than the 3.55s? My new convertor has a 4000 stall, I'm not concerned about streetability at all. I think with the 6r80 1st gear stops being useful with anything over the 3.55.
Personal experience. 3.55 gear, Circle D converter. 4100 pounds. 1.48 sixty. Leaving off of idle. And just zombie stomping it. 325 drag radials and the usual stop the hop suspension bits.

I've been 1.44 with 4.15s.

Also just a FYI i have a 245mm 3C Circle D converter that will be for sale in a couple months. Stepping up to a 258mm 2C because of my power level. Converter only has 7-8k miles on it and only used on the street.

How much power do you plan with your new build? I have a 3c and just ordered the 4c.

Sticking with 850 or so whp for now (have not re-dynoed since i changed from a 4.25 to a 4.0 pulley). Thats about as much as i feel comfortable pushing my MMR 1000 short block. My current converter was fine before I had a built motor (made 740whp), but now the stall of the 3C is too loose to get traction on the street. If I was only focused on the track my current converter would work just fine. Also the 258 2C is less aggressive for part throttle driving, something I've been wanting ever since I switched from the stock converter.
