Next up on the list of supporting mods is the automatic transmission.

Our 2011 car logged between 400-500 passes on the factory automatic transmission, probably more than any other trans out there.

The 2 weak links in the trans are

1st - the oem clutches
2nd - the billet intermediate shaft

We worked closely with Exedy for 2 years helping with the development of the stage 2 automatic clutches for the 6r80.

TCS Stepped up to the plate with a great billet intermediate shaft. The centri's don't seem to break the shaft as much as the big pd blowers do but if your in there, it's not necessarily a bad idea.

Brian Campbell my crew chief and owner of our installation center Finish Line performance got to work on the trans.

This isn't one of those installations that we would recommend doing yourself. You really should have a knowledgeable person.

Brian has done more of these transmissions than just about anyone. We regularly get them shipped in from all over the country and even internationally.

If you ship us the transmission, we can do the clutches or clutch / shaft upgrade for $550. There really isn't any additional cost to do the shaft while your doing the clutches.

Here is a great vid on the teardown of a 6r80 trans performed by Kyle House of Exedy USA.

Of course since we had the trans out, why not throw in one of our Circle D Billet converters!!

Chris' converters have proved to be the leader in 6r80 performance.

You really can't compare anything else out there to the Circle D's. The quickest 6r80 cars out there all run the Circle D.

We can customize a converter for n/a, centri, pd, turbo..

You have 2011-2014 Hubs, late 2014 hubs, and 2015 hubs. Chris has been able to streamline the Circle D's so no matter which year 6r80, the converter will fit any of them.

So, no worry if you are doing a swap, the converter is sure to fit. We opted for a 3c converter, 245mm. This should work perfectly with our Vortech supercharger!

We then got to uploading one of our Lund Custom tunes to make it all work together! I was able to get on the car yesterday and it runs great and we've verified fitment for the 2015's on the clutches, shafts, and converter.

If you want to take your 6r80 to the next level! This is how you do it!!!

I thought that these things are strong stock. If theres guys out there putting 900-1000HP through a stock 6R80, why upgrade the clutch packs?

They are a strong trans from the factory and work very abd can well over 1000hp. Doesn't mean they don't need supporting mods to live at that power level

Especially with repeated track usage

In addition you can get more aggressive with the shifting on them
