6 months or 5000 miles for me. Time isn't as big of a deal if you aren't doing short trips often though.

The engine oil life monitor goes to about a year before it asks to change the oil on a car that doesn move much in example my car i used it 2,500miles last year and the olm went to like 5% in a year.

I forgot to post the picture from a cruise yesterday. Anyways, my Mustang is more of a weekend car. Mostly commute in my 250cc bike or with my Wife in a 2012 Corolla.

It's so easy to run up the dial in Phoenix. It takes forever to get anywhere... Not to mention all the fun roads are far.

Just changed my oil at almost one full year. Looked exactly like yours. Mileage was under 3000 miles. Today’s oils can easily last that long so changing it at 6 months is honestly a waste of money.

Running Penn Platinum in my car and the wifes. We live downtown, both cars get the same full syn oil, changed every 12 months, due to the fact we both only do 5-6k miles/year.

So does the oil turn to dark brown due to mositure? I actually don't know what it takes for the oil to change color. Makes me wonder why we should do the 6 months or 6,000 miles thing. But I am still under warranty for another year.

Many things can effect the color of your oil. If your motor is running properly six month old oil should look pretty shouldn't be any darker than 3/4 on the attached color chart. Of course if you put on 20K miles in those six months I'd change it.

In my 15' EB I did oil changes every 5k. Sold the car with 51K miles and the inside of the engine looked new. Use Semi Syn Ford oil and Ford filter.

There's absolutely no need to change SYNTHETIC oil at 6 months, which is what most of us use. One year is a good practice, but if I drive more than 5K miles in a year, I use 5K-miles instead.

Whenever mine hits 20% OLM is when I change it.

I just want a well oil machine since I do track this thing. I never really cared about this until I started going to the track. I care more about good maintanence over performance mods.

I went with the Ford Protection Plan, cause I can no longer easily do myself. So it will be every 6 months or 5,000 miles (8,000 kms) whichever comes first. At the rate I'm going with our weather I may struggle to hit 1,000 miles by the first oil change (Good for break in drive)
