THANK YOU Brian! Oh yea, a lot of work and a lot of fun building it. When I started it I was determined to use as many OEM Ford parts as possible. Only 2 components are not Ford endorsed parts.

The only bad part is that it's so OEM that most people at shows walk right by without noticing all the changes. (I take it as a complement.)

Funny you say that cause I tend to notice 15-17 models more often than newer ones.

Hard to say on the color options, I get the WW option but Kona Blue was "new" color so who knows why they stopped at 2 options.

I think it was marketing wanting unique colors for the 50th LEs. People like choices, so needed an alternative to WW. Ford likes the fewest colors for manufacturing, so picked one extra color they thought would sell best.

I have a on-going list of all the 50th LE Mustangs and I am showing 45 of them totaled so far. (My list also shows color and transmission type for all 1965 of them. Yes there are 1965, Serial number #0001 is a 1-of-1 Convertible (Manual) W. White) and serial number #1 = 1FA6P8RF6F5500001 (Manual) Kona.)

The really strange part is these 2 VINs below are legit VINs!
1FA6P8RF7F5501965 (Manual)
1FA6P8RF9F5501966 (Manual)

Not to get too far off topic from the thread content, how/where are you getting 1,966 produced?

#0001 supposedly went to Bill Ford.
#1964 was auctioned off by Barrett Jackson.

Every web link or news article about the true 50th LE’s has always had a count of only 1,964 produced.

I don’t know where the ‘1965’ and ‘1966’ VINs come into play. Is there documented proof of these vehicles in the wild, images, titles, VIN plates or VCL’s?

Not that I am doubting your info or post content, but am curious myself - especially about the Serial # 1 and “0001”. There should only be “1” 50th LE with a VIN ending in 0001.

Technically there are 2 VIN #1's

VIN #0001 and VIN #01

VIN #0001 Was raffled off August 16, 2014 and each ticket was $20. The proceeds went to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The winner then sold it a Sotheby's Auction in Aubern Indiana on Sept 6, 2015 for $148,500.00. The dash emblem reads "0001 of 0001" with Bill Fords Signature. From the info I could find VIN 0001 is just that, only 0001 is on the VIN in the window. There is no "1FA6P8RF6F550" just #0001.

VIN #1FA6P8RF6F5500001 is a Kona Blue 6-speed Manual.

Run the VINs at the site below and you will see that they are legit VINs.

As for these 2 mysterious VIN's below, they scan as legit VINs. But were they actually built, who knows? One thing is for sure, the Convertible 50th makes the total number of 50th LE Mustangs built 1965 and not 1964.

1FA6P8RF7F5501965 (Manual)
1FA6P8RF9F5501966 (Manual)

Sad as it might be, at least they are being driven, unlike some of the other trim/models.
