You are talking about a 1966 not a 2006 right.
As a side note down @ Daytona and looking forward to seeing the Mustang GT4 @ the conti race.
No. I just seen on bj tonight a 2007 gt-hertz sold for $97K

I wish SA the best of luck but this is another offering that the exterior is a set back vs a step up. A company with the resources that Shelby American has can do better.

Sorry, but this is just another "special edition" Mustang with a sticker price I don't understand. Even if I could, I wouldn't throw 70grand at a tweaked GT with a cool name.

10.9 is not boring.
Maybe not a big deal getting the hp level......but not boring.
That's their CLAIM. Not proven tested.

As someone said the last Super Snake last year didn't come close to trapping what Shelby claimed in promo materials; whether it couldn't hookup or whatever the issue was.

There is nothing super secret on this car making it go faster than a 5.0 with boltons. The list of them is on the first page. You could EASILY build this for $15-20k or so on top of your 5.0. It's merely a Whipple on top of a 5.0 with Ford Racing half shafts and coilovers. Most of us already have wide rubber and got rid of the sickly OEM wheels and Pirellis.

There is no special juice there you cannot buy and add to your current GT for WAY less money because it doesnt say Shelby on it. The ONLY go fast part on that car is the Whipple which you an readily buy too. The suspension and half shafts just support that power to the ground, same as anyone else running boost here does too.

Would be cooler if it was based of the gt350 or even a new design. Instead of a 5.0. Not going to say I don't wish I had one but could be better.

A GT350H on bj sold today for $97K
Like I said earlier, that CSM number is gold down the road. Not many seem to get that.....

I know damn well I could build a better car for less. Any of us could. But at the end of the day (or a decade) it wasn't built at SA, it won't be in the Shelby World Registry for posterity, and it won't be worth shit.

Some car collecting folks care about these things.....

A few years back my Dad was looking into buying a '68 GT500. A quick check with the registry told him everything there was to know about the car, including current ownership. Instant provenance.

I agree. Anyone could build a mustang faster, better etc for less. But yours or mine will not have the value to a future collector.
I find it funny when people wish SA good luck on selling those. Really? SA has been in business for how long now?

Exactly! They should of used the shorter ARP studs. This picture you snap shot reminds me of Ben Hur's chariot
As soon as you put some 18x11's on for track use you'll be glad it has the 3" studs.
