6060 2.97 first 4.10's 27 10.5 quick time pro's Not a lot of sway down to 14 psi but there is some I only trap 130 right now though. I'll probably be switching to 28 11.5 quick time pro's next

LOL

Yeah but I am sure that's a 17x9.5 wheel .

My 28 inch Hoosiers also went straight arrow on that rim .

The 26x10.5 have bulge and I was at 18 psi .
Why did you switch? We had good luck with that combo. I've cut 1.48 60ft times at 750whp and a MT82. The 2.66 first gear and that 3.31 rear is hurting you for sure.

Since I installed the Baer drag brakes I was able to run a 15 wheel /26 tires which I need to make up for that 2.66/3.31 combo .

I chose the 2.66 Magnum as I was told it was better for drag racing becaus of the close gear ratios.
I also calculated the 1.3 third gear ratio would allow me to stay in third up to 148-150 mph with a 28 inch tire (144 with a 26 inch tire ).

I realized the 2.66 would be a slower out of the hole than a 2.97 but thought one less shift would make up for any lost ET.

I think if I can get my 2 step working it will leave a little harder and can go 9.8 as it sit with a 1.4x range 60 ft .

I am eventually going to switch to a complete 4.10 pumpkin but it will mean going in to fourth .
I decided to do a pumpkin rather than just swap gears as the 3.31 will work well if I decide to run a 1/2 mile -I can stay in fourth up to 200 mph !

I did have a random guy(nice guy) take a video of the 10.0 pass.He did not get the whole pass but you can see the car get out of shape before the 1-2 shift. It looks like it got worse on the 1-2 shift as i almost hit a center cone.I should really have got out of it.

I was just desperate for that 9.I think if it went straight I would have had it as I am sure I went more than 1320 ft!

I am following Reds197's advice and I am going to try a wider wheel. The widest that will fit the Baer brake is a 15x9 Weld.Still needs some grinding to fit(the 15x8 did not)
Front alignment was also real off so hoping it goes straight next time out.

That's shitty, you have to grind down that nub and the head of the bolt to fit?

You'll get there man, you just need a better rear end ratio to move that tank out of the hole.
You could do it now with what you have with a clean pass for sure.

Thanks man. Really wanted to make at least one clean pass as it is before swapping the 4.11 rear end.

Not many chances left this year.I had hoped to run this weekend....run as in get there at 11 am till they close ,as I finally got a day off.

Decided to check the fuse to my pumps as last log looked a little lean 0.80 vs 0.76 lambda.
It looked like I had been running on 2 pumps as the fuse for the 3rd had melted.

The second fuse in the picture also looked dodgy and that pump also came off line just doing a quick pull.

Lucky i guess it did not happen at the track but running out of time.
:amen:
I am changing the box/new fuses and checking all the wiring before I run again.

DA was not going to great today at 1500 but still better than last time out -2500

I may get another shot next Wednesday but looks like rain as of now.

Next chance after that will be 10/21 so hoping the stars are all aligned. The fall air may also be finally here by then so DA below 1000 will be nice.
I will get another shot the weekend of 10/28 so hope to have the 4.10's in by then.

update:
still chasing that 9 and finally found the courage to climb back in it after the long winter and tracks finally opening up.
Since the last pass I added the Steeda drag rear sway bar. I also decided to try a 27 inch Hoosier quick time pro. I felt this was compromise between the 26 inch tire which were to small/traction limited and 28 inch tire which were too tall for the 3.31 rear and 2.66 first gear magnum XL.

..... I was not completely prepared as I could not find my Gauge to log so I was using an SCT X4. I also left the cord to connect to my computer to change the 2 step which had been preset to 3500. I decided to run anyway just to shake up the cobwebs and get over my fear.

This was my local track here in Indy and they are pretty strict with rules so I expected I was only get to make one pass or be kicked out after 2 (which I want to avoid).

I left off the 2 step and tires dead hooked(18 psi cold) but I think to get a decent 60" I will need to set it to at least 5500.

The 1/8 speed is still too slow to get a decent 1/8 ET although it picked almost 40 mph again on the back half so its making steam.

It did go straight through the 1/8 so the sway bar must have helped as the last time out on 26 tires it was all over the place by then. It did get squirrelly at the end but not half as scary as the last time.
The NLT was set but I still granny shifted as this was just to be a shake down pass

Of course as expected I was told to slow down if I was going to make another pass. I could have run just the 1/8 again but decided to just call it quits till I was better prepared and could adjust the 2 step.

I may try that one more time but even if I get a decent 60' I don't think its geared enough to run a decent first half.

I already built a 4.10 pumpkin ready to swap in but I had wanted to see if I could get that 9 making just 2 shifts and staying in third.

I am also starting to feel uneasy running the car without a cage. I am not even sure my airbags work since the light is on after swapping to corbeau seats.

I don't want to cage the car so I am now even thinking of just calling it quits and listing the car for sale(after the 4.10's and one more attempt) .... It is currently in race car mode but I have the stock seats/brakes so it can easily become more street friendly if a buyer so choses.

In fact I am also thinking of selling the Hellion car as well which is more streetable as is, although I do want to see how it does with the aerospace dual rear brakes(and fronts).
Last time that car was at the strip was may 2016 when it lost the alluminator.

After a lot of headaches/fixes both 5.2/GT350 headed motors are now running strong.... might be the time to cut my losses if I can get decent cash for them and focus on the 18(awaiting whipple) and GT 350(about to install whipple).

True if your aibag light is on that means your airbag system is disabled.

What rear end are you using to take hard stick shift launches? Is the stock pumpkin with some axles pretty stout?

Yes , the iron diff housing . Ford racing 1400 hp axles .Steeda stop the hop pack /Upgraded LCA bearings/adjustable toe links .

Drive train is stout with race prepped Magnum /drive shaft with billet yolk . if I end up keeping the car and really want to go fast I would swap the Magum for a TH400/pulley down .
I think I have lost my nerve /tired of breaking shit and throwing money at a car I only Test and tune .lol

Its hard to quit now that I am so close to that 9. I think with the 4.10 swap it would be easier but going to need to make that extra shift .

May be the next owner can especially if they can drive better than me(average ).

I just like that you don’t have a bad option here. I’d like to see the 9, but i also wana see the whipple 350. I’m leaning towards that myself, even though i said i’d Leave this car alone
