Hey all!

so I was set on picking up some wheels and tires on Black Friday. I wanted sp2/project 6gr with Michelin PSA4. I wanted 305 in rear and 275 in front

I come to find that Michelin has 305/30/19 but no 305/35/19. Matter of fact the selection is pretty limited with 305/35/19 with any tire.

I want to know how much impact 305/30 would have vs 305/35 in term of ride quality.

also, are there any other tires or set ups people recommend to go wider tires. Should I go for 20s instead as those seem to have more tire options.

Thanks!

It comes down to ride comfort. The less sidewall the stiffer the tire is and the harder the ride becomes. Tire aspect ration correlates to a few things. Vehicle ride height, wheel size and offset. Also the old fight of performance v comfort.

I am thinking 19x10 in front and 19x11 in rear.

Yeah that's what it seems like I'd lose some comfort. Are there any other A/S that would would come In 305 or 315 that people generally run? I don't see Continental offered in that size either.

Idk if I should just go for 20s instead as that has more tire options.

If your going to run a 19x10 and 19x11 you can fit a 285/35/19 up front and a 325/30/19 in the rear. Stock suspension or lowered you'll be fine. The sidewalls are very close to the same size front and rear with that setup.

You could but then you can run into rubbing because of the size of the wheel and the body being lowered. Iā€™m thinking that in the rear with letā€™s say a +56 offset you can tuck that wheel and tire combo inside the rear fender and a +45 upfront if the suspension allowed for it.
Good luck and let us know how it all turns out. Wheels and tires are the first thing Iā€™ll do on my ā€˜18.

I have a friend with this exact set-up. Project6gr wheels are 19x10 +35 front and 19x11 +50 in the rear. He used to run Michelin ps4s Tires until they dry rotted and wore out. They fit perfectly flush. You will need steeda IRS alignment bushings to make sure the IRS is centered otherwise one wheel may poke more than the other.

I personally run Project6gr wheels 19x10 +35 squared so I can rotate the tires. 285/35/19 front and rear.

OP, take a look at the aggressive wheel set-up thread. Lots of ideas in there. I'm lowered and run 20x10 with 275/35r20 in front and 20x11 with 305/35r20 in the rear and with proper offsets, there is no rubbing.

Nitto Motivo is another AS option. I am running 275/35-20 front and 315/35-20 on rear with no rubbing, front wheel is a 9x20 +35 and rear is a 10.5x20 +45.
