Researching gears and considering a gear swap on my 17’ GT PP with 3.73. I have a Roush SC and from what I read at least, I think 3.31 might be good for my purposes. I don’t track or race and it’s more or less a DD.

Does anyone know where I can pick up 3.31 gears? Either the gears alone or the entire unit? Any suggestions or advice on this swap? Seems like the vendors I’ve come across only carry the 3.55 or 3.15.

do you recall the same of the seller/store by any chance?

I’m not too mechanically inclined so I’m not 100% sure what parts are needed for the swap. I came across this item that says it’s compatible with a 17’ GT on the listing. Do I need to order anything else to complete the swap?

$90? Seems like everything I can across is $300+. Am I missing something?

they bid off the pumpkins and I was the only one who bid so I paid $90 plus shipping. if you get the whole pumpkin you won't need anything else, just swap them out and add new fluid to it. you might need to update your gear ratio if you have an ngauge like I did but its not a big deal. Your MPH won't read the same and you might be up 2-3 MPH than what the odometer reads. most diffs start around $300 but make sure how many miles and etc. get the aluminum housing as well since its lighter than the cast iron

Only get the Aluminum housing if you are NEVER going to test it out out the track....especially super charged. Several have broken the supports (ears) 0ff the aluminum ones...they are lighter than steel but no where as strong.

Thanks for the tip. Any advantage in swapping the gears only and keeping the original 3.73 torsen differential housing? I would save a lot in labor costs with a pumpkin swap but if the are enough pros in keeping the torsen, I may consider that option.

Well...depends on what you will be doing with the car. Doesn't sound like you are going to be hitting the drag strip every weekend so the less expensive route would be the way I would go.
