I have my doors apart due to a recent interior upgrade. i don’t see a Metra harness part number to replace the built-in female harness on the stock 3.5” speaker adapter. I’ve used the search function on the site to no avail. Has anyone been able to identify a Molex or Mouser part number for the female speaker wiring harness plug for the 3.5” midrange?

If you’re replacing speakers in the doors, Crutchfield supplies plug and play speaker adapter pigtail harnesses for free with speaker purchase.

I'd like to know too. I just cut the factory wires between the speaker and factory female socket and soldered the new speaker leads to the factory wires soldered to the connector pins. Don't try and solder the wires directly to the pins sticking out the back of the socket as you are likely to melt the socket.

They only supply the harnesses for the 6.5” speakers.

Oh ok, gotcha. I wasn’t aware of that, as I only upgraded my mid-bass woofers. Is cutting the factory speaker plug off an option for you? I did this on my A-pillar tweeters and used regular 2 pin Molex connectors that I got online.

A good start, but that’s the male end. I’ll have to see if their product webpage refers to the female end.

The plug is for 3 pins but you only need to pin the 2 outer holes. I have used it and it is correct.

You need the Molex pins for that plug. Mouser sells them. I used a crimper for the pins, I found it was hard to attach the wires without one.
