Hi Everyone,

I've been shopping around for quotes on the 3.15 to 3.55 gear change on my auto v6. I've been quoted $1,300-$600 in the Los Angeles area.

Can anyone recommend a reputable place or the price they paid for this service? The quote would be solely for labor as I have all the parts.

Don’t do that.

Buy a 3.55 whole diff from some one or swap them your 3.15 diff for it.
Sorry I didn't state this in the OP, I bought the whole "pumpkin" 3.55 for the full replacement.

Don't know about costs but I removed and replaced the differential in my garage on jack stands, and it took about 8 hours. A lot of that was from doing it for the first time, also part of that was building a wood cradle to lower/raise the diff with a floor jack. A Ford dealer also told me that their labor time estimate was in that ballpark.

Thinking of going the DIY route myself. Did you have to tune it to adjust the diff. settings after?

No tuning was needed, the speedometer was correct immediately but IDK if that's just on 2018+ manual transmission cars or on all 2015+ cars.

I paid $500 to swap out my 3.15 housing for a complete 3.55 Torsen housing.

No tune adjustment was required for the gear change. 2015 Auto GT.

How do you like the 3.55 compared to the 3.15

I love it. It's perfect. And it's a double win considering the gears and the diff. The Torsen diff is way better IMO, makes the stock one seem like crap.

I can actually cruise now in 4th, 5th, 6th so much easier. But I also understand the need for a 3.15 gear for a base car. I just like the 3.55 better.

Just finished the 3.55 upgrade. What a difference! Feels like it brought all my mods together and also upgraded the rear toe links (SR Perf.) meanwhile.

Much more power off the line. MPG did go down, but don't care! Also, the toe link upgrade inspires faster cornering speeds and simple to adjust and dial in.

Cost: $425 (DIY Autoshop)
Time: 12hrs
Worth: 5/5
