18 pp1 a10 car with 3.55s and 1200+hpI believe it is the same in the manual gt. They are all over eBay https://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/e...1&pm=1&ds=0&t=1618867216000&ver=0&cspheader=1 Why do you need the iron housing? If your aluminum one is locked out you should be fine
That's a 3.55 geared diff you listed. BTWI believe it is the same in the manual gt. They are all over eBay https://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/e...1&pm=1&ds=0&t=1618867216000&ver=0&cspheader=1 Why do you need the iron housing? If your aluminum one is locked out you should be fine
What year/models will have the 315 iron?car-parts.com you can search all the major yards in the country. The diffs are everywhere, I just switched from 3.55 to 3.15 and got mine out of a 15K car for $125 plus tax 5 miles from my house. I see people everyday spending $350-500 on used housings.
I mint the housing but changing gears might not be in your plan. SorryThat's a 3.55 geared diff you listed. BTW
For some reason the wrecking yards think a 3:15 gear rearend aren’t worth muchcar-parts.com you can search all the major yards in the country. I am confused. I have a 2019 GT PP1. I have replaced the 3.55's with 3.15. I thought Lethal had a 2018 car - and they were telling me to go "iron chunk" - which I also thought was on the base V6's. Two questions as you are going with the aluminum housing - is the aluminum housing better - and if the 2018's have the aluminum housing - which I believe they do - is the iron chunk only about saving the diff ear damage?Unless the housing is different on 15-17 auto cars, I would imagine you'd be able to swap the the carrier and gear set over. From my understanding the 3.15 gears only fit the carrier they came with. Where as the 3.55 carries can fit 3.73, 4.09 etc. I don't see ford changing much other than 18+ autos getting an iron housing with torsen and 3.55s. I'm just going going to swap in a whole 3.15 unit on my car, aluminum housing and all.

Thank-you for this - I now understand. I have the diff lockout - that I didn't even think about for some reason - which ends all of that discussion. The iron housing is stronger than the aluminum but the aluminum is a good bit lighter. I don't plan on doing a bunch of trans brake launches, so I'm not concerned about breaking the ears. I'll also be doing the diff lock out, which help prevent them breaking. I've probably seen more broken iron housings than aluminum too, but that could be due to morr cars having the iron housings and getting beat on.
As far as I know, torsen cars are the only autos that get iron housings. Not sure why honestly.
