Is the traction advantage going from a 285 to 305 worth buying another set of wheels. I will have a whippled 2019 pp1. My plan is to either put 285’s on stock rims or buy a set of pp2 rims and go 305 or 315.

I guess my question is the traction difference worth the cost of wheels? I’ll be buying a set of drag wheels for the track so it’ll be street use and looks alone.

Also 315’s on 11” wheel work ok? Google says 305 is max for that rim width?

Also best drag radial?

Hey this is Junior from N4SM/Project 6GR, You are definitely going to need a wider and stickier tire for the whipple haha. 315 on the 11 wide wheel fits perfectly fine. 325 is the biggest you can fit on a 11 wide wheel, we have done many wheel and tire packages in that configuration. For the street the Nitto NT555R2 tires are one of the best tires in my opinion for traction and tread life. This is my car on a 20x11 rear with 315/35/20, has a nice beefy look. They do great on my 800whp E85 Vortech Supercharged GT.
