21 & 22 Intake Tube Designs

I have a question regarding the MAF location from the 21 (top) and 22 (bottom). Would replacing the 22 tube with a 21 cause issues or a CEL?

The reason I ask, is the relocation of the MAF on the 22, looks like an afterthought with the wire just draped across the tube.

There have several conversations, where some say it will not make a difference and others say it will, and honestly I do not know. All I really know is it looks horrible.

I cant imagine this change would cause a CEL. As long as the sensor is in the airstream you should be fine.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Aesthetically, the 21 looks better.

From what I read, the tuning was changed and a hydrocarbon filter was added to the intake. Nothing stated has been confirmed to my knowledge though.
