Production Schedule for the 2023MY Mustang.

Interesting to see these dates brought forward from the previous couple of years.

• 14/09/2022 - 2023MY Order Bank Open Date
• 20/10/2022 - 2023MY Scheduling Begins (+ 2023 Order Guide Released ?)
• 28/11/2022 - 2023MY *Job #1

*This Build Commencement Date is for US Cars, (Last year was 03/01/22). However our RHD cars usually start production about 3-4 weeks later.

The last MY22 Production is 23/11/2022 - 2022MY "Balance Out Date".

So there should be a RHD Production Gap between the above and late December / early Jan.

Dates are subject to change. Thanks to a reliable insider member from another Forum.

MY23 Schedule Update: (@08/08/21)
  • 21/09/2022 - 2023MY Order Bank Open Date
  • 20/10/2022 - 2023MY Scheduling Begins
  • 28/11/2022 - 2023MY Production Job #1

More clarification here from FordAuthority:

"With the all-new, redesigned S650 Ford Mustang set to debut in the spring of 2023 and launch for the 2024 model year, the 2023 Ford Mustang will represent the final year for the current S550 generation. Now, we know when those interested in purchasing one of these pony cars will be able to order one, as sources familiar with the matter have told Ford Authority that 2023 Ford Mustang order banks are currently scheduled to open on September 19th, 2022.

Production of the 2022 Ford Mustang will end at the Flat Rock Assembly plant on November 23th, 2022, while production of the 2023 model will take its place a few days later on November 28th, 2022. As always, these dates are subject to change, especially in light of numerous ongoing supply chain constraints including the chip shortage.

These dates also mean that the 2022 Ford Mustang production run is set for slightly less than 10 months after that model entered production at the Flat Rock plant back on on January 3rd, 2022. The 2022 Mustang has also faced its fair share of adversity in the months since production began due to the chip shortage and other constraints, leading to idle time at the Flat Rock plant on multiple occasions.

Regardless, the next-generation Mustang is expected to be revealed in April of next year ahead of a launch for the 2024 model year. The 2024 Mustang will launch with carryover engines, as Ford Authority exclusively reported back in April, as well as without any sort of all-wheel drive system, though hybrid powerplants remain a possibility for the future. Otherwise, the S650 will feature fresh exterior styling, as well as a completely new interior featuring a flat-bottom steering wheel, a new digital instrument cluster design, and a larger infotainment screen."

MY22 Mustang New Orders Closed - Until MY23

UPDATE 05/08/22 Re: US Production – MY22 FINAL Order (Model End) for MY22 From 10 Aug 2022;

With the current Australian Stop-Sale on New MY22 Mustang Orders, there will be NO MORE MY22 Orders Taken, as FINAL Orders have been brought forward to 10/08/22
".......the final day to submit new customer retail orders for 2022 Model Year Escape and Mustang is August 10, 2022.

Retail ordering reopens for 23MY later this year

SUMMARY

Escape and Mustang continue to experience high customer demand. We are making the decision to pause and no longer accept new 2022 Model Year Escape and Mustang retail orders after August 10, 2022 to focus on existing orders.

After August 10, 2022 and for the remainder of the 2022 model year, dealers will continue to be able to submit orders for (existing) Escape and Mustang dealer stock inventory and if selected for scheduling within existing commodity constraints, customers will be able to purchase these vehicles from dealers upon arrival.

We will start retail ordering for the 2023 Model Year Escape and Mustang later this year.

KEY DATES

August 10, 2022: Dealers have until 10pm EDT to submit new 2022 Escape and Mustang retail orders

WBDO/CONCEPs will no longer accept new retail orders after this date and time

New customer retail orders will resume with the opening of the 2023 Model Year Escape and Mustang later this year"

Any further updates from Ford?
Apologies for the late response, unfortunately I have not had any luck with updates on the MY23, however for anyone interested I do have some info on the Aust' MY24...

Firstly Aust MY24 Colours:

Australian Spec Colour Update:

As usual, Oxford White and Race Red are No Cost Options, while every other colour will cost.

Iconic Silver, Rapid Red and Yellow Splash are NOT Available on the Dark Horse, however all other colours are available.

The new BLUE EMBER is a Dark Horse Only Option.

The Dark Horse Appearance Package is only available with Shadow Black and Vapour Blue AND is included as standard with Blue Ember.

Secondly, it should come as no surprise - confirmation the Dark Horse WILL be a "Limited Edition" with a "Limited Volume Run". However, the actual numbers are yet to be finalized.

GT Fastback Option Packages are: (i) Appearance Package (ii) Black Pkg (iii) MagnaRide (iv) Recaro Seats

The Convertible only gets the Black Pkg, and the EB only gets the Appearance Pkg option.

As there are notably no Performance Pkg or Active Valve Exhaust Options, therefore it would appear these would remain included as standard with our Aust' Cars.

Finally we can expect the Official Release of FULL Product Specs and Pricing sometime during the next three months (Q1 2023), so hopefully we will also see the Order Books finally open then.

It will also be interesting to see how our GT & DH HP/TQ Specs compare to the US 486/500 Hp, and the availability or volumes of GT and DH.

I forgot to mention the "Appearance Package" on the GT is NOT available with any of the other three Packages (ie Black, MagnaRide or Recaro Seats), and as it is also available on the EcoBoost, it would rule out a return of the California Special, which was the previous Appearance Pkg.

Thanks for the update on that. Looks like as your stating they are lookig to build all remaining MY23's in the first quarter. So iv been given an approx. ETA on delivery of early May on my S550 convertible, no VIN or schedule yet. Would end up being over 12 month's from when ordered back in March.

Just make sure you have a Segmentation date. A few people have been lead to believe they had secured a car only to find out later there was no car.

Thanks mate, so far looks ok. As they provided me the NSC number, and confirmation email showing its a confirmed 'order'.

Apparently NSC number is the crucial part as thats the confirmed order number that came through to me early this month.

With an early May ETA, it looks like you could be the proud owner of one of the last Gen 6 / FN Mustangs, as the Current FN / S550 Production END DATE is 28/02/2023, and Shipping ETA is currently around 2.5+ months from production. As Chooka said, you need a Segmentation (Production Date) now, so keep chasing your Dealer for Order Status Updates / Screenshot emails.

This is amazing insight. How do you get this info? I was hoping for a build in Jan, but i'll take an end of Feb end date to production. Im relieved to see the light at the end of this long tunnel

Unfortunately it’s not. I’m on my second NSC after the last one got cancelled.
