Good morning everyone, sorry this has to be the first post I make on this forum, I have a 2023 Mustang GT with 10k miles and I have a ticking sound/piston slap that can only be heard from 1-2k rpms acceleration and my car randomly ticks during idle as well, I would like to gather your guys' inputs as I would like to hold onto my car rather than leave it at the dealership for 2 weeks before they even work on it. I linked 3 videos below. Does this tick sound harmless or will it be detrimental to the engine?

EDIT : The tick/rattle comes around when the car is warm, when the car is cold I cannot hear the sound in the shown videos.

EDIT 2 : I used 1 bottle of Ceratec per some of your suggestions and the tick is almost non existent, very faint if I do hear it and thats if I do hear it, the 2k rattle is still there as well but the Ceratec also quieted the rattle down substantially. Thank you all for your help in narrowing down the sounds!

What you describe here are very common issues (dare I say almost all engines have these). One is the 2k rattle and the other is the BBQ tick. There are many many many threads on these dating back to 2015 (and even beyond that in the S197 forums).

Video 1: sounds like BBQ tick.

Video 2: this one also sounds like the BBQ tick.

Video 3: I tried to listen, but there was a lot of interference from the air passing.

If attempting to confirm the 2K rattle, I hear it when the engine is cold and rotating at around 1700-2000 RPM. I can listen to it while inside the car, windows up. Some think it's injector and pump sounds, others, the pistons when cold.

I've not had any mechanical issues at all. I drive the car normally while temps are coming up to their expected ranges. Once the engine temperature is up to and steady at 185F/85C, I drive the car as I like.

YMMV.

Edit,

The BBQ tick and 2K rattle are two distinct sounds.

Yes I have been scouring the forums and I have not been able to distinguish the differences between the different ticks, rattles and slaps, I appreciate your input, I was not aware it sounded like the 2k rattle.

I should probably try to check with the windows up, all these videos are recorded when the car is up to temp. The car doesn't tick until it is fully warmed up I should have mentioned that.

That's the "piston slap" you hear at 1-2k rpm that you mentioned in the first post. It's not piston slap, at least not in the GT.
Oh okay, I will edit the thread name, so piston slap would basically get louder as the RPMs go up then, whereas the rattle goes away after 2k?

I have the BBq tick and the 2k rattle. It doesnt go away as it gets warm. I have added Ceratec like some have suggested and its still there. Honestly would think Ford would have been able to address these things by now. Its something I just live with.

The BBQ tick I can hear in the first video. 2 seconds tick tick, 2 seconds tick tick essentially. And you’ll hear it more when warmed up. More noticeable in drivers wheel well area. Def hear or more in drive thrus. Is annoyingly normal. Has been a thing for over 10 years. You can add some ceratec to the oil and it’ll quiet it down some. But not much you can do.

Piston slap usually goes away with the engine at operating temperature, or gets considerably quieter. This usually doesn't and remains the same regardless.

All three videos sound normal to me.
It is a coyote engine. It has ticks and strange noises, not particularly a graceful sounding engine unless you are getting higher in the rev band where some beautiful noises occur. Nothing to worry about unless driving capabilities are compromised.
Enjoy the car!

Nothing out of the ordinary here.
just normal noises. You may also be hearing the VCT solenoids ticking rapidly around 2-2500rpm this as well is deemed normal.

I doubt your issue is related to what mine was, but on my 16 GTPP years ago, I thought there might be some weird ticking noise and it turned out to be an exhaust leak. Once that was welded up, it fixed it. But I have no idea what this problem actually is.
